well as soundwave, megatron and all these pics from the G1 cartoon show, it would appear that transformers have some form of matter compression device that enables them to alter their size drastically, remember when optimus drove into `Skyfire` along with the other autobots?

they store there mass in subspace.

Decepticons/Destrons has powers and abilities that Autobots/Cybertrons didn't. Like the ability to fly and alter thier size at will. right?

Powerglide/Skyfire/Omega Supream got WAY bigger in there alt modes.

To determine the height of Alternators in feet, take the toy height in cm (inches are not precise enough) and multiply it by 0.787402. Using this, 20th Prime would come out to 23.2' tall (I measured the toy height at 29.5cm).

Of course, with all the size-shifting in TF's you really can't hold them to a 1:24 scale. I always assumed that Prime, Megs, Soundwave, etc were about 30'.

MP/20th Prime isn't 1:24, he's closer to 1:28th (using the measurements from the blueprint included in the #0 reissue). This makes him a little over 27 feet tall, so your 30' assumption is correct with this scale.

the Masterpiece Convoy Booklet says MPC is 1:20 scale.

the Masterpiece Convoy Booklet says MPC is 1:10 scale.

If that's the case then Optimus would only be 10 feet tall, and as a truck less than three feet wide.

the Masterpiece Convoy Booklet says MPC is 1:10 scale.

No, it doesn't. It says that--assuming 6 meters--he's 1:20. Assuming 36 meters, he's 1:120.

And assuming the -correct- height of 9 meters, he's about 1:28.
