What's the average age of a Transformers fan?

I got into Transformers in 1984. Never stopped collecting/loving TFs ever since. :)

Sigh. Wish I had pictures like that. ^_^

Transformers have always been a part of my life ever since 1984 where I picked up a Marvel X-men comic and saw the shilouettes of the Autobots on an advertisement page. They got me so much I was collecting ever since.

I'm 37 and started collecting giant robots ever since Shogun Warriors (Man, I wish I still had those dudes) and the Micronauts. My first Transformer was Ironhide and I think I was the first kid on my block that got 'em. ^_^ Shortly after, my friends from the neighborhood went on an insane Transformer spree. It was pretty much Transformers and Gi Joe for us. Most of them went the Joe side and it was pretty much just down to the three of us that were still die hard. Once a collector, I think it just gets embedded in our souls. ^_^ I still keep wondering what makes me still collect them still after all these years, and still find them as facinating as I did when I was ... I think eleven. WOW! Thats a long time! I still love 'em though. Wish I still had all my older Transformers, Shogun Warriors and Robotech toys. ^_^

I'm 22 and have been collecting for as long as I can remember. I remember seeing TF the movie for the first time and crying when Optimus Prime died. lol

When I was young though our family didn't have much money so I must have had about 10 TF's in all untill I was about 12. then I really started concentrating solely on collecting TFs.

My collection of TFs is getting fairly large now, but I have a big collection of star wars and Marvel Legend figures too. I think you only really become a collecter once you start working and can actually afford to buy a "collection" of figures to showcase

LOL! I'll re-learn THAT particular joy once I've graduated from Animation School! ^_^ Sigh. It'll be like New Years eve all over again.

Aw crap. It's already a 2-page topic and I'm the oldest one here- 37, married, 1.7 kids, and over 300 TFs.

My first TF was a black G1 Ironhide variant, it said "Diakron" on the box IIRC. Then G1 Optimus Prime, which I still have in fair shape and mostly complete. I also got G1 Grimlock and an Insecticon back then, then I sort of moved away from TFs onto GI Joe and Star Wars for a while, then in high school and college started picking up the odd TF that I thought was cool.

Then a certain Michael Bay created the live TF movie.

Yeah.

Since, I've gone nigh on nuts w/ the damn things. I love the engineering and design that goes into them, and the fact that they're freakin' giant robots doesn't hurt, either.

You're not the oldest one my friend. Now I know what it's like ... when doves cry. ^_^

im 28 got ops an thrust for xmas when they where released in the uk i was 4 or 5, still love all cept the action masters, an i jus got an animated starscream yay

I'm 24, so I was born the year the toys started coming out. My first toy was the Computron set when I was 4 and I haven't stopped yet :D

I'm 30 years old. I'm been a fan since the G1 cartoon first aired in the US. I had the toys when I was a kid and I collected those until they started making Action Masters. I also bought the Marvel comics on and off until until issue #74 of the first Marvel series. I was never able to get a hold of issue #75. :tfsad :dclol Anyway, when I got into my teens, I stopped buying toys because I thought I was "to old for that sort of thing." I have never stopped reading and buying comics though. So time goes on and I graduate high school and start college in 1996. I never worked until I left home for art school. I went looking for work and, lo and behold, I get a job at F.A.O. Schwartz. Several of the guys that worked there were older and were complete toy and comic book junkies. A few guys in the stockroom said if I was expecting anything cool to arrive at the store that they'd pull it for me as soon as it shipped. On top of that employees got a 30% discount off anything in the store and that's how I got into buying transformers again, and I haven't stopped yet!

Oh yeah, my first TF were Cosmos and Topspin. Also today I bought a voyager Animated Optimus Prime. woot woot!!

I am 37 years old and still collect Transformers. It's a hobby and I love how they transform into different things. I got my very first Transformers Soundwave in 1984 when I was 13 years old. Soundwave was the very first Transformer to ever be released in 1984. I guess you can say Soundwave was the world debut for upcoming Transformers toys. At that time, I was amaze at the transformation from a cassette player to a robot and the cassette changing into a bird. I had never saw anything like that before. I got one Soundwave and so did my brother. I got hook ever since and collected only the earlier series of G1. I have collected all Beast Wars, all Beast Machines, all RID, all Armada and some Energon and Cybertron figures. I am missing TF movie Ratchet, Ironhide and Starscream. I have variants, Universes, Classics and Japanese figures but too much to list here. For the Animated series, I will only get Cybertronian mode Prime and Megatron, Earth mode Prime and Megatron, the constructicons and the dinobots. My all time favorite figures are the G1 dinobots and the G1 constructicons. :tfevil

I started being a Transformers fan when they started up back in 1985. While growing up I had only 2 transformers that I can remember: Wheelie and Action master Snarl w/ Tyrannotron. All 3 have gotten lost over the years and moving around didnt help matters none. I started my collection back up when Beast Wars started with Armordillo and havent stopped since. I'm 28 yrs old now and have close to 400 Transformers. I'm just glad that they took my two loves ( Robots and Dinosaurs) and combined them! HeHe!

I'm somewhere between 25 and maybe 27 (seriously, I kinda stopped caring about my age years ago). Anyways, I think my mom screwed up and got me some pre-Transformers when I was really young, but I vaguely remember her taking them away because of the shiny, yet tasty vacuumized metal pieces! I always loved the show, but the toys disappointed me...partly because I never EVER saw the main characters from the show in stores...*whimper*...years later, Beast Wars really got me interested in Tfs again. I remember scraping my meager savings to buy basic figures all the time. I actually am more into TFs as an adult than I ever was as a child! My interest has only skyrocketed since......and my wallet has sadly stayed empty.

I think I've been a fan of Transformers since I knew what they were. I was probably 4 or 5 or something like that when I got my first Transformer - Constructicon Hook. My first Beast Wars toy, which really got me into it, was Insecticon (the blue stag beetle with green limbs. The figure's weapon was a crossbow). The next one to get me going again was RiD Mega Octane (repaint of G1 Onslaught). My willpower towards not collecting Transformers has since vanished mysteriously! :tflaugh I'm 20, BTW.
