star wars transformers

Recommended Posts

I have a few starformers and i notice they seem to have the worst balance and articulation ever for tf's of this age(luke is flimsy as hell) i brought them because i love the alt-mode ideas, however when i transformed them to their robot modes, i notice many issues with them: hard as hell to transform, pitifully unbalanced(again, luke tends to fall on his ass often) with very bad looking robot modes, very limited articulation. the best of these which i have is cody, he has the best robot mode and the best balance. i'm wondering are the others this terrible? i'm currently looking at vader(death star) but i don't wanna shell out another 15 bucks for a crappy ass toy.

...that's pretty much SWTFs in a nutshell. Nice alt modes, sub-par robot modes.

I gave up on them after the second wave. I found ALTS and Titaniums much better.

They stand with the Beast Machines Maximals as my least fauvorite naughties TFs.

If I want Star Wars toys I'll buy Star Wars toys ... not these horrible Frankenstein's monsters.

Actually, while we're on the topic, how's the Emporer Palpatine/Imperial Shuttle, articulation- and poseability-wise? I've been thinking of picking one up when I have the chance and bashing him into Springer.

There's worse...

"The poseability is fairly good, although it's held back by the unstable boots. The head and waist turn while the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees are turn on two planes giving the limbs pretty much full articulation. The wrists are ball jointed and the heelspurs are sufficient (although they don't prevent the thing collapsing to one side). The shield can be placed in some cool poses as a result - it's a shame the other add on bits are so unstable because there _should_ be poses that can utilise them."

I like Commander Cody, but he's the only one I ever bought or plan to buy.

Ah, thanks Gok. To eBay! (once I get my paycheck :tftongue)

the darth vader deathstar is pretty cool, a shellformer but a big planet bot

i like the starwars formers for what they are... i wish they were a little cheaper

Palpatine was one of the biggest letdowns for me, i gave it a scathing review at TFormers.com, i did return it for another one however, mostly becuse i like the altmode.

  • 2 months later...

This line is realy nothing more than profettering, and it's all been said...

I for one only get the ships I like, and have the DV Intercepter, DV Death Star, DM Whatever They Call His Ship, And Millenium Falcon.

Unlike the majority of my TFs they stay in alt mode cause thats how they look best, the bot modes are subpar, fall apart easy and look just plain silly.

So why did I get them especialy when considering I realy don't even like Star Wars...

The ships look cool, and if they're gonna have any type of special feature, it mine as well be my favorite special feature!!!

I did get the Commandeer Cody thing do to all the ranting and raving over it, and although it was alright, I just cant see the hype. YAAY, he ahs a compartment for a dimebag, and a hidden pistol. So did RID HightTower, yet everyone seems to be calling him "teh ghey" which just sounds gay.

So whatever, as far as this line goes, they can make it till the cows come home, that doesn't mean I have to buy it, but if they do, could they please do one of those big triangle dodads, and the beepy garbage can guy who turns into the gold guy.
