I just found out that MP04 has been released by Hasbro as a Target Exclusive for AU$200.

I started out with the 20 Anniversary Prime and added the custom long steel smokestacks and a Just I Toys Trailer.

 

Then I ordered the MP4 with the trailer to replace my 20th Prime and Just I Toys Trailer

 

When I got the MP4 version in my thoughts changed!

 

To my surprise found my 20 Anniversary Prime was far better than the MP4 Prime and the Just I Toys Trailer was also better built.

 

Now the MP4 Trailer is very nice and cool but just feels not as thick and strong as the Just I Toys, so I kept both trailers the MP4 Trailer and the Just I Toys Trailer and I am happy with both.

 

The MP4 was made with less durable paint and it was chipping brand new out of the box, one leg was screwed together wrong and a panel was hanging out, one gas tank was only half chromed, casting tags were showing, and his head keep falling off.

 

So I took only 70% Alcohol and just wiped all of 20 Anniversary Prime battle damage right off very easily and effectively to my surprise!

 

So I fixed MP4’s leg panel and off to eBay he went without his trailer.

 

So now I have Super Custom 20 Anniversary Prime with no battle damage and he is the strongest of all in my experience and two trailers for him to use!

 

Now I just want to get that other Trailer that transforms and is an exact G1 likeness for MP Prime. So I can have all three types

 

PS Oh yea DVD Prime is stripped of all chrome and paint is even cheaper. DVD Prime sucks worse than all and I didn’t even let him make it out of Wal-Mart! The paint was falling off on the way to checkout so I put him back! I just wanted the talking base!

WOW.. you had that many problems with an MP-04 Prime from Takara?? I hope that is more the exception than the rule - for the most part, I thought the MP's were put together pretty well.

 

I have heard the same that the JIT trailer is a bit better made and even looks better than the MP-04 Trailer -- it just isn't Takara nd doesn't transform.

 

What 3rd trailer are you talk'n about? I thought the MP-04 transforms.

- putting MP-01 Prime in Robot Mode

- Get the MP-04 and put him in Truck mode with the JIT Trailer behind him.

- Use the MP-04 Trailer in the upright position - and working on MP-02 Ultra Magnus.

I bought the DVD Prime when my 20th Anniversary Prime was getting really beat up by my son playing with it. It's foot was barely staying on from when I first opened the box, so I wanted to get another one anyway.

While the DVD Prime isn't as nicely colored as the 20 Prime, I haven't had anything near the problems you're describing. I am more than pleased with its solid build, I just love it! I also got an MP UM and switched their smokestacks. I like the Prime better and wanted it to have the longer smokestacks, and I'm working on armor for the UM and the shorter stacks allow it to fit much better. Win-win situation!

 

I didn't actually buy this one and try it out but the ones I seen in the boxes kept having small bubbled paint or small paint chips on the chest area. And no chrome so I couldn't really buy one like I wanted to.

 

...but I still want the talking base!!!

 

Not really as many problems with DVD Prime I guess

Yea MP-04 should be alot better than DVD Prime at five times the cost, but it was not I guess

OK yea that one is suppost to be just like G1 only a lot bigger to fit MP Prime perfectly

 

The MP-04 I have opens the same, but the walls are different on the inside it has kind of Tech Stuff all over the inside, it has two trailer doors one opening for a ramp and one opens like a real trailer door. It does not have a roller. The repair thing is different as well. It looks like the Hibrid Trailer mostly. Here is a link below

TJEFFFW, have you seen any around? Is the trailer made by Kool Toyz or is that just a reseller?? The reason i'm asking, is looking around on that site by KT, I noticed it also had some clear blue trailers also. On Ebay I saw those same trailers that were WST (Worlds smallest Transformers) also. Who is the manufacturer of that one? I do think the KT one definately looks most G1. I think i'm still going to get a MP-04 tho.
