I dont know (as i didnt read 9 pages worth of posts) but i :luv my MIB Super Go BOt Cy-Kill. Total :win imo & not really that retro at the time. I also would like to get the rest of the show bots at one point.

You guys are over-analyzing. The reason Transformers won out over gobots was because the gobots sucked. Plain and simple. I remember at the time as a little kid thinking "That gobot crap sucks!". There were always a couple kids into em, and the rest of us would figure them for retarded or clueless. There were also kids that were into both GI Joe and Transformers. Those kids were also clueless. If you were a TF fan, you hated GI Joe. If you were a GI Joe fan, you hated TFs. That's the way it was back then. Actually I still can't stand GI Joe, but that's beside the point.

well in defence of this line of thinking (although at this point its senseless) I can give an example. in my little neck of the woods, TF and GIJ competed at the same time slot on 2 different channels. perhaps he was in the same type of situation? didn't result in my hating GIJ but I certainly didn't keep up with or collect them. except of course "Rock-n-Roll" cuz he, like myself, calls females chicks. :rock

Dude you are Sooooo wrong. And kinda judgemental imo, GIJoe & Transformers are almost one, but different Universes. They BOTH came from Hasbro & Marvel, & are NOW, both on IDW comics. Kids played with them in the 80's equally. And alot of times, together.

But as you got to the G.I.Joe part you are very very wrong there. I am a huge fan of both G.I.Joe and Transformers and to me I like them the same but have to say Transformers is just "better". But I don't see why a fan of both would be what you call "clueless". Now that I think about it, fans of Transformers and Gobots are very VERY clueless because they are a fan of some thing huge and cool, and some thing gay and old. I don't need to explain. So the point is, Transformers are better, and Transformers is a huge geek loved fiction that is superior to others. But yet they still can keep up.

A person like ME can tell you from experience that Transformers is better. But that does NOT mean Go Bots sucked. Sorry. I like the GoBots alot & :luv the Transformers even more. I think they need to REDO GoBots imo, and make them better oR involve the few good ones & good names with Transformers somehow.

 

And YES G1 'cons drank energon. I want to thank Le roy & Venom McBeth for all their info on the GoBots and reasons. I would still like to add a Puzzler to my Cy Kill & Leader 1. ;)
