Hasbro Confesses Cincinnati Animated Toys Lead Market

Recommended Posts

New toys (reset) don't typically come out until this time of year. That's another thing to consider.

I live in Cincinnati and just happened to be in Toys R Us in eastgate today and picked up Voyager Megatron... I wanted a Voyager Prime, but they didn't have any (has it been released yet?) They had a bunch of all the deluxe's and other Voyagers and the 2 pack of Prime and Megatron. Starscream is next for me.

I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind this move...

It's actually not too bad of an idea to put the show on first. Some countries, I've heard, won't actually air a show if the toyline comes out first.

Though, the lag time between the release of the show, and the release of the toyline is pretty ridiculous.

Aoi

I'm not sure I understand the reasoning behind this move...

This has been done by Hasbro before at an area surrounding a BotCon, apparently.

Some delay, I understand. 6+ months of a delay? Then giving a 3 month early preview in *one* city? I'm really not getting the train of thought here.

I still think it has a lot to do with the fact that after Christmas, most companies don't make a big push for toys until early summer- and Hasbro was still (supposed to be) riding the movie wave.

Way to go Hasbro! Give those scum sucking scalpers the edge that they've soooo desperately needed. Fools. :roll

You ain't kiddin'. Have you seen the eBay scalper prices?

The first wave is on June 22 as stated in the PDF report.

Until the mean time is there any cool fans that are in Cincinnati that could hook a few fans here in California up?

I'll pay the cost of the toy plus the shipping for a voyager starscream, please Message me.

Thanks in advance. smiletf.gif

Don't hold your breath. No one's even trying to help out their fellow collectors with this. I've asked on two different boards, and got nothing, plus I have a friend in LA with friends in Ohio that wouldn't even help him. This Animated debacle further proves that all of us TF fans are just selfish and don't consider anyone else, so the instinct is "Ah, screw 'em."

I'm growing sick and tired of this whole TF thing, and no I'm not kidding. (Yes, the toys, shows and movies included.)

Well, I dunno if I'd go that far. I initially felt the same way as you. Although my reasons aren't entirely personal. I am just wanting to get my hands on some figures to post some detailed reviews for this site. However, after 2 postings and a couple of PMs I have only received one response.

You have to consider several things. First, these people are going there for their personal enjoyment. They could be unfamiliar with the area or maybe don't even have personal transportation. Second, for those that may live there, do they have resources to spend $60+ to sell back? Do they have $4/gal to spend on gas to go on the hunt for someone else? Do they have the time?

I admit, it is frustration, especially to the people who don't live in or around the Cincinnati area. However, I wouldn't go half cocked saying TF collectors suck for that. They're humans like we are, and they have limitations. I am just thankful I found at least one person who could take time out of his schedule to help me out. It's all one can ask for in the end.
