WGA Strike Nearing An End?

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to be the guy who points out that most of them are hacks, and their writing is gradually dumbing down generations of American viewers.

Even if you argue the state of being a "hack" as subjective, you couldn't possibly convince me you've had enough experience with the work of every writer in Hollywood to label most of them as such. Knee-jerk emotional generalizations of a group of people is easier than a fat joke on "According to Jim", and less fun, at that.

Why the hate?

I used to work somewhere with a lot of middle-aged women, and every morning I'd have to listen to them come in and talk about how "funny" last night's episode of According to Jim or George Lopez supposedly was... I guess after a while it started to get to me. AICN is calling BS on this rumor anyway, FWIW, so we'll have to wait and see where this goes... http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/node/35495

How long until Idiocracy's "Ass: the Movie" becomes a reality?

I didn't mind "Ow! My Balls!"

Man, I just want "The Office" back. And "30 Rock," though I'd like it if folks would ease up on the unconditional praise so much. Its at risk of being Junoed. And I want "Scrubs" to end on its own terms, even though the showrunner screwed it up a few seasons ago.

Oh yeah, and I want whoever thought it was a good idea to soap up "Friday Night Lights" so much (enough with the all the technical statutory Transufomah!!) to take a hike and let me enjoy what little time I have left with that show in peace. I wanna see Mrs. Coach at H-E-B and Landry and Saracen at EZ's or Alamo Draft House or some other distinctly Texas places.

Bah! Quit ruining a show that used to give me goosebumps is what I'm saying.

2) And I was hoping it would at least last long enough to keep the turds that wrote the first TF movie from writing the second one.

Hmmm... and I thought somehow we were all past people complaining about the incredibly sucessful movie.

Nope!

(just because a movie was successful doesn't mean it was a great movie.)

INDEPENDENCE DAY'D!

And I want "Scrubs" to end on its own terms, even though the showrunner screwed it up a few seasons ago.

Scrubs used to be awesome. So very awesome. We even got an Optimus Prime vs Megatron mural out of it.

Then, at the end of season six, I was blindsided. Everything was going fine. Then they decide to do Elliot and JD AGAIN! I mean WTF?

JD's going to be a father and Elliot's getting married, and then BAM! Two interesting storylines that would have allowed the characters to grow the Powerglide up are tossed out the window so JD and Elliot can sleep together and ruin their friendship AGAIN only to patch things up AGAIN!*

That season six finale pissed me off so much, I swore the show off. As far as I'm concerned, Scrubs ended with the second to last episode of season six.

*It's quite possible that they managed to do something decent with the story regardless, but from what I've heard that isn't the case. I havn't watched a single episode of season seven. Maybe one day I'll give it a fair shot and I'll rent season seven from Blockbuster. Until then, Scrubs is dead to me. [/endrant]

Good point.

When a movie is both financially successful and approved of by the majority of the fanbase of the franchise it's based off of, however, then I'd say it's a good movie.

about d@#m time, i need my 24 fix, and more Heroes.

A. They didn't sleep together, they just kissed. B. They'd been hinting at this since about three episodes before the season finale. It was NOT out of the blue. C. They do this every single season for a reason: each time they get closer and closer to finally staying together. D. The new season was awesome until it stopped.

This is about as TF news worthy as HD-DVD dying a slow horrible death and bringing TF to Blu-Ray.

Just saying, you know :word
