UK TF selection is really bad

Recommended Posts

I lived in Ireland for the last two years and all I could ever find was armada laserbeak and the rest of the wave 1 armada toys. Luckily Argos is selling the Alts now.

We were lucky to even get Unicron at all and Hoist. We don't have Universe here, Hasbro US has decided that Universe will be US only. The way it's looking, TF's might suddenly stop appearing in the UK and Europe all together at this rate, it's already a miracle to see a single new TF in the shops.

In response to the lack of A. Jetfires, again ive only seen a few, but they were in a local toy shop (both original and Powerlink Jetfire i think), but ive never seen an overload, only the Ultra Magnus repaint. The TRU i visit is in Oldbury near Merry Hill. Theres Birmingham TRU near too, but ive never been. Last time i checked TRU Oldbury still had quite a few S screams and hot rods, not sure about Magnus, a lot before xmas tho. Powermaster prime wont shift and neither will A.Unicron.

Whilst this was a few months back I doubt the situation has changed much as it wasnt much of an improvement on christmas, and TRU seem to keep toys for eternity if they dont shift them.

I did see Jetfire here months ago, but I had to pass him up because of a lack of funds at the time. I've seen the E-Magus and he looks great, looks like he would go really well with the first paint job of Superbase Prime. At £25 though, it's a fair pinch when he's supposed to be £10 in TRU. Really want to get him though.

Here, you guys, treat yourself to one of our many hundreds of thousands of Ironhide's sitting in Walmart.

LOL, thanks for the offer, but miraculously I already found one in the UK, believe it or not.

One WHOLE ironhide!

I've got Ironhide as well, he's really lonely with no one of his own size to combine to.

lol i have seen an abundance of IronHides in Coventry. The ENtertsiner has all the basics and the deluxe's/ They have Prime too but at £39 its a bit to steep for my liking. I havent seen to many Megatrons either, And Unicron is here to BUT 50 QUID DAMN THATS STEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

europe is alot worse of then the UK, that and the fact that crapbro keeps charging us rediculous prices, with teh stron euro us stuff should be cheap, but it only get's insanely more expensive, so i decided never to buy a hasbro toy in europe again

Both Europe and the UK get treated poorly by Hasbro, Hasbro UK and Europe seems to be more interested in drowning us in Action Man than striking a better deal with Hasbro for better releases of TF's. If the lack of releases keeps going as it is, there won't be any TF's here at all and that's worrying.

I would import if I could, but I can't use my credit card for anything but paying the Net every month and I can't afford the import costs, plus I'm not up for wading through a lot of listings, I know what TF's I'm looking for at each particular time and I keep to my TF hunting plans and only ever go for alternatives when the TF I'm looking for isn't possible.

If any of you want to see the collection so far, then feel free to click on the link to the collection in my sig below, 89 TF's and 67 mini cons and all carefully planned out, well almost all, the reissues and Armada were planned out, RID was whatever I could find on the shelves and Terrorsaur was just a this or do without choice, the other TF's are from trades and carefully handled deals I've made with people in the last year.

If Hasbro can't see how popular TF's are beyond the US, then they clearly aren't interested in making a profit from non-US and Canadian costumers who do like their products. It's their loss, not ours, they don't want to provide TF's for the fans in UK and Europe, then they'll face a profit fall that could damage their TF department. We're as big a market as the US is and they just don't see that.
