Jazz will NOT be returning in TF2

Recommended Posts

I have to agree with most everybody here, he needs to stay dead. Hopefully megatraon will stay dead too and, like in the IDW Comics, have Galvatron be a completely different tformer. There are plenty of great characters that we have yet to explore, not to mention, bringing him back is story time taken up trying to explain how it's possible for Jazz to come back in the first time. :tfgrin

Actually, with the exception of the current iDW comic series, Galvy has always been an upgraded Megatron.

and I love that fact, Galvatron should come in as a sort of Decepticon myth to step up after meg's death. When other Decepticons compete for the throne, then Galvatron will come in and maybe blow up the winner with ease(as a nod to the original animated movie?). :tfgrin

EDIT: the above is a tad cheesy and maybe a bit Mary Sue. That really isn't how I would bring him in, ec=xcept for him not being a reformatted Megatron.

Ah, ok. I thought you were implying that he was a separate character in the Marvel run.

As for the movie, I can see them letting Megs come back to life but not Jazz, because Megs is necessary to the plot. No other Decepticon, including Galvatron, is as synonymous with Decepticon leadership as Megatron is. Starscream would work for a while, just until Megs gets back online. But really, to appeal to the general audience, you have to go with Megatron.

I'm holding my opinion till further down the road when the writers strike is over and we start seeing some official info and what not. Just cause Bay says it does not make it so. He doesn't have the absolutely final say in things by himself. If the writers feel a need for Jazz to return from the dead for some peculiar reason, okay. If not, okay. I for one really liked him and would like him to come back, however unrealistic that may seem.

It sure isn't up to the writers to determine. They're pretty close to being low man on the totem pole. They submit the script to Bay for approval, and if Bay doesn't want Jazz to come back from the dead, it isn't going to happen. The only way it could happen is if he's overridden by his producer or the studio. Which seems unlikely, given that Transformers was the #3 highest-grossing movie of 2007 and studios are typically reluctant to interfere with a working formula.

Of course, I say this realizing that some people simply aren't going to believe it until they actually watch the movie.

And then the speculation will begin about Jazz returning in TF3.

People also tend to forget that Bay was one of the producers himself.

Well he was and he wasn't. There were two of them. One was the Megatron of the future, the other was from a parallel universe or something. (you knew this didn't you?)

I always assumed that parallel Galvy was just an upgrade of parallel Megs.

Yeah he was. In fact its hinted that he was the Megs from TF:TM or at least a Megatron from a remarkably similar reality.

I don't see how anyone can have an emotional attachment to a character who did essencially nothing to further the plot line other than to have dialogues with Optimus about Bumblebee's capture.. oh and be megatrons stress ball for awhile. :redface Ironhide and Ratchet had their uses atleast (medic and high explosive guy) but Jazz was a throw away character..
