while on the subject: what happened to the Soda Machine Decep? and the Caddy Escalade Decep?

and why was it that anything that got the Spark turned evil and all Decep like anyway? how come nothing became benevolent and autobotish? are the autobots the weirdos of the bunch?

The recently leaked treatment for the sequel featured Scoponok's reappearance...

...but it's already considered an old treatment... things have supposedly changed already, so who knows...

Yeah, the treatment/script basically says the allspark only bestows life, not intelligence or a soul...

And the Matrix, introduced in the sequel, would give TF's souls...

Mike Orci addressed this question in an interview - iirc he said that it was because those Transformers were wild/feral/primal. Remember when Ironhide complained about humans being "a primitive and violent race" Prime replied with, "Were we so different?"

damn. OK. makes sense now. thanks! so basically the autobots 'evolved' into benevolence, though not all of them as we did see both Ironhide and Jazz both question why they should help another species. So maybe even the autobots don't fully think the humans deserve pity or compassion either.

OK, i'm sorry all, we can let this topic die now, my major questions were answered. thanks again everyone!

It's not that Ironhide was lacking compassion - he's wondering if they're wasting their time trying to save such a primitive and violent race... i.e.: why save a species from destruction when they appear to be doomed to self-destruction anyway? Megatron also asked the same question, and Prime answered by saying that whether humans destroy themselves or not is their choice and that the Transformers shouldn't be playing a part in that equation. The difference between Ironhide and Megatron is that Ironhide is willing to listen to Prime's compassionate reasoning, and act upon it - after all, it was Ironhide who first erected that Furby truck as a shield against Starscream's assault and continued battling Decepticons in the city to defend humans, whereas Megatron was like, "screw that!" and would wantonly kill humans (Ironhide was disgusted by Earthlings once, but who wouldn't be grossed out by a dog pissing on your foot?!)

And I think most of us could sympathise with Ironhide... look at all those people who never bother looking for work and leech off public welfare - public welfare that is funded by everyone else's taxes. On one hand we could follow Ironhide's reasoning and ask why we bother giving these people welfare when they have no interest in finding long term employment, making themselves financially independent and improving their station in life. But if we follow Optimus Prime's more egalitarian approach we could argue that it's up to those individuals to motivate themselves to better themselves, but all we should do is provide them with that opportunity - in this analogy, but providing welfare - in the Autobots' case, to prevent the Decepticons from destroying humanity and the Earth.

Scorponok, not "Skorponok"! (sorry, I see a lot of people mispelling it this way - it's not as if you say "skorpion") :P

Too bad Scorponok never had a chance to fight BB in the movie.

BB never appeared in the same movie as Scorponok (or any G1 character for that matter, unless you wanna count Majin Zarak)

PS: Actually BB never appeared in any movie - he theatrical appearance was in the upgraded Cyber Beast form of Max B

Yeah. Don't you see Goki's sig. BB does not equal Bumblebee, even though a lot of people abbreviate Bumblebee as BB and a majority of people don't seem to have a problem.

As for being on topic.

Barricade and Starscream-hope to see them BOTH in TF2 even though the most likely thing is for us to see Screamer.

As for Scorpy, I'm on the fence. While I'd like to see more of him, I understand some people's points of views and find it hard to disagree on certain points made.

I didn't see anyone mention it yet but:in that leaked Treatment for the sequel:

Scorponok burrows into the underground hideout in Vegas

Of course we dont know if any of that treatment is being used in the sequel but it suggests that the production company considers him alive and available for future use.

For the record thats an idiotic reason to argue with people.

:tflaugh Thanks for noticing
