Yep. I was already planning on selling/trading him, and I needed a little head (don't we all, eh guys? Ba-dum-CHING!), so off it came.

 

Just curious, what was the cut-out idea for? Maybe some folks around here can help y'hammer it out. :thumb

The cut-out was because I used the above-mentioned head. It comes riveted to a plate that has a peg on the end opposite the head. I drilled the hole in teh horizontal surface of that clear chest piece "shelf" to peg the head onto intact, then I realized there wasn't enough clearance for that chest piece to slide inward w/ the head pegged in. So I elongated the hole into a slot, so the head would stay in a fixed position and the chest would slide in and out. Well, when I tried it out, I realized that, duh, I should just glue the head. So I cut the platform the head comes mounted on into a little square, and trimmed a piece of Dreadwing's chassis so the head platform would wedge in place, then I welded it in. Now that damn gap sits there mocking me. I might just get some putty and rebuild it, paint it gold or something.

 

Thx for the comments guys, glad you like it! I'm sad to say, tho, I'll never do it again. Pain in the ass, but I'm pretty happy w/ the results. Can't wait to see smuggles' version, we'll def. take some pics to compare.

 

Now I have to get Tidal Wave's other knee built and installed, and find a way to stiffen them up so they hold his weight. But these cuts on my fingers have to heal a little more first...

Yeah, this guy really did need a new head. you picked out a good one for him.

now if you can figure out how to make his arms his legs and his legs his arms you'll have something sweeter than yoo-hoo.
