That sucks, Emerje. I can't imagine Takomy selling these with the knowledge this might happen, but this problem is a pretty crappy oversight on their part. With circumstances like these I would have definitely settled for plastic rather than diecast.

I heard about a Megatron rerelease on August. Did I miss something ? Perhaps Takara Tomy postponed the date to solve the rusting and tarnishing issue...

Dunno about everybody else but I live in Florida. To be more precise, the Florida panhandle which I like to refer to as "Florida's armpit."

Might as well be lower Alabama with all the rebel flags and hicks. Anyways, considering how bad it does get here I only have a minimal amount of tarnishing on mine. I'd say go ahead with your order, but I really like my Megs and am a bit partial. With a little upkeep and occasional check I think the problem could be taken care of. Just a little brass polish and Megs should stay nice and shiny. The only downfall is that I've never heard of a TF needing a buff and wax job before Megs.
