Sorry, I didn't mean to say that he was available on that site. It was just an unrelated question relating to my search for MP-06 preorders. But I DID see one somewhere last night... it may have just been listed as sold out, though. I just kind of glanced over it. If I see it again, or happen across another, I'll let you know.

Edit: Found one on a UK site... not sure where you are, or if they ship outside the UK http://www.xybertron.com/catalog/product_i...products_id=743

I am just curious why the PREORDERS sold out so quick, and there doesn't seem to be any news yet of when it will be available retail or otherwise. If it's going to be a limited edition, I'd understand it - but wish they would have advertised it as such. The fact it costs so much has me wondering - unless it's just an ehobby thing, and they are charging more and releasing them slowly. Anyone more familiar with ehobby's business methods or have info on whether Mirage will be available a few months doesn the road - i'd appreciate the insight. :)

All of eHobby's exclusives are limited editions, it's sort of implied in the offering, but if you're aren't familiar with their exclusives...

This also explains the cost - plus, they usually only have Takara produce a single "batch" as well, which drives up the price in the secondary market.

Probably the most relevant example would be eHobby's "anime Astrotrain" - which was an eHobby exclusive repaint of what was a $30 toy, it originally retailed for about $75 at on-line import shops and now I think usually sells for about $250-300 on eBay.

Also, I wouldn't expect eBay auctions until the toy is actually released, plus I wouldn't imagine that the initial auctions will be much more than the pre-order price.

Although this is true, it is still not a slam dunk that it will raise in price. They are still stuck with G2 Magnus's, THS-02 Nemmy Prime, and Gray Galvatrons whih they canot sell for the life of them. I know a guy back in the States that ordered over 100 TwinCasts and barely made any money off of them.

I'm guessing that the "last Binaltech" won't suffer the TwinCast problem.

Mind expounding???

artimus stated he knew a guy who barely made a profit selling a previous exclusive, TwinCast, which doesn't come as a surprise considering that's a figure nobody not many people wanted - people actually want BT-18, so I'm guessing if you imported a large number of BT-18s to sell you'd probably make a nice profit.

ahhh... When you said TwinCast problems.. i thought you were talking about a QUALITY CONTROL issue (ie, the casts.. molds.. etc) hahahaha

I am not looking to 'make a profit' or anything like that. I don't buy TFers for resell. I have every single one i've ever bought, and I don't generally buy duplicates either, unless i'm wanting to display them in both modes. I am a consumer, not a businessman when it comes to TFers. Nothing wrong with people doing that - but i'm not buying with an eye towards profits. I want to get deeper into real estate for that, not toys. Altho it is fun to watch some of the one syou do have grow in value. But truth be told, someone could tell me every BT was worth $1000 and i'd still keep em. :D

Altho I do have a 2005 Costco exclusive Prime/Magnus that might be the first TF I ever sell. LOL It's not part of any collection I have, and my son doesn't care for it, and has gotten into other series (cybertron, alt's and the movie ones now). So it makes no sense for us to keep it. Truth be told, last Xmas, I shutter to think we almost threw it away or was going to give it away. *gasp* If I can trade it or sell it and use that to get a BT-18 -- i'll suddenly have reason to like that guy, and it will go from being the 1 TF I bought and regretted - to one that I have a fond memory of - as it appreciated and transformed into something more of what we collect. :D

This was the only thread I could find to resurrect without starting a new one. Just got an e-mail from bbts saying that Mirage is in and that I was charged for him. Looks like he'll be shipping out Tuesday!!
