well, I know who he is, but I don't get the way he speaks. I thought he'd be a slow, sinister speaker, but the words he uses don't jive with that. Is he supposed to be more of a John Wayne character, or what? Who would you compare him to?

Also, I flipped through the BW book in the store, and I think it looks a lot better than the Gathering, so I picked it up. I think Ascending will be the Escalation to Gathering's Infiltration.

I figured Sixshot to be such a good killer that he's bored with it. I love the line (paraphrasing) "Are you sure you want me to do that? The way I do things?" His hobby is killing worlds. Megs wants everything dead and he's like 'Meh. Okay. Why not?' Then goes and does it with skill that hasn't dulled from repitition. I <3 Sixshot. And yes, read his Spotlight- it's much win.

I read BW: The Ascneding and the sourcebook, and I have a few questions.

If, as Ben Yee states in his 'inside look' at the Sourcebook, BW2\Neo took place before the BW in this continuity, does that mean that the 'Convoy' who appeared in BW2 was in fact Optimus Prime himself? If he was, does this mean that some version of the G1 Beast Wars took place in this continuity?

Also, does anyone know who the members of the Pack are yet? Are they just the ones shown, or can we infer from Lioconvoys line 'gather the Pack' that there are others? It was awesome to see Longrack in his Cybertron form, btw.

I was a little disappointed that Shockaract is apparently to play such a big role in this series. I love the idea of using non-show and Japan-only characters, but using con exclusive characters seems a little overly-exclusive and nerdy. Why not use Razorclaw or even Nemesis Prime? Universe is in the BW continuity.

I also read Devastation. I was pretty please with it, but I'll be upset if Devastator doesn't actually appear in this series. That would be a travesty. Is it possible that, in a curveball, the Constructicons could be behind the Machination?

Is anybody else semi-disappointed that both BW and Infiltration are seemingly moving towards Unicron re-appearing? Don't get me wrong, I love the big guy, it's just I was happy to get a break from him. If he's cool when he shows up though, I'm all the happier.

What you say makes no sense, Shockaract falls into the same category of Beast Wars convention comics as Razorclaw and Nemesis Prime

If you read the Ultra Magnus spotlight, one would assume Scorponok is behind the Machination

I don't know about Beast Wars, but Furman explicitly has said in all of my interviews with him that he will not be dealing with Unicron, Primus, or anything like that for a very long time in the IDW G1 continuity

I think (guessing here) The Pack consists of mainly Japanese Beast Wars molds. The BW Sourcebook gives subfactions where applicable, and judging by those present in the control room and Break's identification as a Pack Member in the SB, the team consists of:

-Longrack (love the toy homage)

-Mach Kick (I'd love to see is motorcycle alt. mode)

-Stampy (adoreable little jet)

-Break (What kinda vehicle would he be? A Yaris?)

-Apache (B'Boom repaint)

-And, of course, Lio Prime

I'd love to see Cohrada just cuz I love his toy- hell of a toy, considering he's a snake

My question-

Who were the other two bots making ''offerings'' at the end?

I recognized (only after getting the Sourcebook) just Drancron (Sky Shadow repaint). Actually, the Sourcebook is helping my enjoy The Ascending much more, since I don't know much about Jap. BW

I'm guessing one is a Torca repaint and the other an Injector repaint? (I forget their names- I do know all three are Unicron heralds)

I don't mind the Source book, its a good little overview, with colouring mistakes and some art is wrongly attributed to artists.

I'll get the rest and then the trade for the corrections.

The Ascending a fun light read, not on the same level as the regualr idw stuff, but sometimes I just want fun.

Devastation is where it is at baby, seriously, that last panel... yeah the title fits this arc. No need for Devistator (who hasn't been even been created yet in this universe). individual bots fighting is way more dynamic.

And best of all, we only have to wait 2 or 3 weeks for the next installments of these and the UK dinobot reprints.

right, so far Monstructor is the only combiner, which would mean that teams like the Constructicons or Predacons do not have that ability yet

I meant the toys. There's literally no reason for BW IDW to be slavish to what's gone before in comics except that they choose to. It was a little exclusionary because, if I want to, I can at least hunt down Apache or Stampy. Shokoract? Nopt unless I have more money than sense or was the convention to spend money on a toy which is apparently infamous for being faulty. That's why I was a little disappointed, I can't pick up my Shockoract and say 'wow, cool character and toy!', because I don't have one, I wasn't there, and if I was, it'd fall to bits on me anyway.

That would really nice.

As least you have a chance for Shockoract, as opposed to IDW's version of Sentinal Prime and Nova Prime.

according to Graham Crackers, Megatron Origin #4 and Devastation #2 come out next week :thumb
