How Big Will It Be???

Recommended Posts

Knowing that S3 had a budget of around $300 mil can anyone seeing the budget for TF's being near or over that for the sequels?

Seeing I think it's safe to say this first one is a lot bigger than studios and producers could have dreamed, one has to start to wonder how big they'll try to get.

The running theme has been delivering a movie unlike anything anyone has ever seen before, but the sequel will present a new challenge of taking things to the next level. Has anyone really given a lot of thought to how they may go about pulling off the most crucial film of a trilogy?

It's kinda fun to think about the possibilities. Especially with a vastly increased budget. I think there is an opportunity to really go for box office greatness with the next movie. But to do that it can't just raise the bar, it's gotta blow it clear into space.

I was always confident in this first film. Now I can't help but worry in an excited way about the next one.

They should blow up a real city. That oughta eat up some o that budget.

I think we'll get a larger budget - but not too huge. Maybe $180-200 million. So a bit of an increase, but not a ton. I think we'll see a very massive TF - either that Aircraft Carrier idea or a Combiner in a huge war with the Autobots. I also think the movies will continue to focus on the humans a lot. I fully expect Sec of Def Keller, Capt. Lennox, Epps, and obviously Sam + Mikela & Sam's Family to return in the sequel.

I think this next movie will hit hard and fast and pace-out like this first one.

I dont think it will be as big as the first movie.

Yea, blow up a real city and replace it with Metroplex :clap

Seeing as how the first film had a much smaller budget compared to Spiderman 3 and seeing how much better it looked than the webslingers episode of "Young & The Restless" Its funny when you look at Transformers and Spiderman 3 side by side, which one looks more expensive? i expect it to at least come close to the $180 to $200 million budget as stated above. Superman Returns had a $200 million dollar budget! where did all that money go?

The work Bay and Co. did with the first movie showed they knew how to spend that money wisely and heres hoping that they are given more change to make things on a much larger scale. I hope they go really Empire Strikes back dark, and show people suffering at the hands of the Decepticons. They are hell bent on revenge for getting their asses handed to them in the first film. maybe they bring in some big guns like THE REAL Devastator. I want to see humans die, being squished like bugs (loved when megatron flicked that poor guy like one would flick a booger!) at the hands of Starscream and Co.

I would like to see if Bay's wish of having an Air Craft carrier sized transformer come to life. More robots, less humans, (we do need then but we don't need them as frequent as in the first film). Also, lets see a scene where Sam has picked up a summer job, doesn't matter what he is doing, just give us one scene with him in yellow workboots!

on a side note, Make Lennox Duke and Tyrese Roadblock and spin those characters off to Gi Joe. I don't really think we need to see them in part two.

With the amount of money the filmmakers were given with the first film, i can only imagin what can be done with about 20 or 30 million more.

I want to see humans die

If you think about it - tons of human die in the first movie. TONS! From all the army men dying from Blackout's attack, to when Prime and Megs fly through the building, and then when Starscream blows up the jets. Lots of death!

^^^^ i know tons of humans died, but the audience did not get to see humans suffer. I think if we were to show some humans suffer at the hands of the decepticons it would do more to show us the viewer just how evil they are. yeah there were explosions, and cars being thrown and buses being rammed into, but I want to see the decepticons treat humans like insects. I want to see humans get crushed, stepped on. just wasted. look at "War Of The Worlds", i would love to see humans killed off the way they were killed in that. Just whiped out, like insects. i mean thats what they called humans in the comics/tv series/film.

EDIT: damn i sound like a sicko

What I liked about the first movie was the old school special effects and the great alt modes. You don't have to pay ILM big bucks to render a Mustang - you just get Steve Saleen's company to make an awesome Mustang police car. Also, movies look "more real" when the old fashioned special effects are used. Blow something up - don't use computer graphics. Use models with real textures, use actually set pieces... the less green screen the better.

Now that Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet, Scorponok, and Starscream have been created - it won't be a huge deal to use them in the next movie. The money can be spent creating the new guys :D

..the less green screen the better.

Then I'm sure there are a few movies that are great that you'd probably like to have a word with then :07laugh I think green screen is fine. It'd have been worse and more expensive to do some of the things they do now on computers old school style. And with the fact that they can make it look so realistic is a plus.

As for what to epxect in the sequel.

New characters (which they'll be able to do no doubt to the increased budget when the studio views the success of the first film and the chances for a sequel)

Sam and Mikaela

Sam's parents...maybe

Allspark shard to have some importance

The return of Megatron near the end leading to the third film in a new form that's native to Earth (of course, if they release that version of the toy during the sequel toys or the third movie toys is up to Hasbro).
