Who cares It was made (the movie) to entertain us not for scientific study on how robots function.

dangit.. are you saying you can't take Tranformer Engineering 101 in college??? :tfsad

What about Frenzy's neck legs and his eyes showing in radio mode? I agree with the limitation idea too. It just seems like thier bodies are 100% convertible to me. Like if Screamer scanned a stealth bomber in mid flight, his body would totally change and his robot mode would be altered.

I think his "neck legs" were probably just an extension of part of his neck that he tried to adapt- as far as his eyes in radio mode, he's just partially transformed...I don't see how that example is extraordinary.

They were totally formed crab like legs that came out of no where. Not just loose parts being moved around.

Just so we can go ahead and cover this

I saw the movie a third time yesterday. When Frenzy gets his head kicked off, it kind of falls apart into two pieces...the "legs" are actually his lower, larger mouthparts readjusted and repurposed as a device for him to walk. At least that's what I surmised from the screen third time 'round.

Did anyone notice in the movie that Transformers' bodies are context sensitive. I mean not only can they scan a new alt mode but what ever they need, their bodies can just create it on the fly.

Examples. Frenzy is decapitated. Instead of just lying there helpless, his neck instantly becomes legs. Bumblebee's hand becomes a gun, Prime's hand, a blade, Barricade makes his headlights and hands into blade weapons, Megatron's cannon and hand mase. It leads me to believe that, if a bot wanted to, they'd never have to have the same robot appearance ever. For instance, Let's say Ironhide feels he needs four arms for his current battle. Poof! His arms seperate and he has four arms. Or, Bumblebee falls into the sea and out of no where, a visor pops over his face with lights and a propeller system comes out of his back to help him navigate the waters. I mean, it make the G1 toon seem less silly when they did stuff like changed their tires into jetskis.

Any one else see where I'm going with this?

I am guessing they have certain limitations. Because otherwise BB could of made his remaining parts of legs split into long thin legs.

Then again, would they be able to support his build? And, unlike Frenzy, his were blown off at an awkward angle... the main mechanics had been broken away.

I'm not saying it's like they are made of liquid metal but their techno DNA or what ever, gives them the ability to shift and morph their body parts to whatever is needed. In the movie especially, their alt mode kibble is capable of bending and folding in a way that is not natural just to make their bodies more compact and manuerable.

LEIK, TRANSMORPH?
