WHAT HAPPENED TO THE INSIGNIAS????

Recommended Posts

They're actually trying to make an effort to disguise themselves.

So true. Some people don't understand that.

Insignias were found on Barricade, Ratchet, and Optimus Prime in vehicle mode. And they were all small references. It's Robots in Disguise, jeez.

Hmmm.

Optimus Prime had the Autobot insignia on the grill, Bumblebee had it on the steering wheel, Ratchet had it on both doors, Ironhide on the tailgate (can't remember seeing it though) Not sure about Jazz.

The only Decepticon I remember having an insignia is Barricade & that was in alt mode on I think the fenders.

As cheesy as I thought most of these would look they weren't too out of place throughout the movie.

Well, the Jazz toy has it on his cod piece.

They more or less are missing. I would have preferred if they had them somewhere on the bot mode. Hell, even Prime only had a itty-bitty little 'Bot insignia on his chest. Megs didn't even have one that I could see. I think they did it just right w/ Ironhide, Barricade and Ratchet where the insignia is unobtrusive, but obvious to the fans. I hppe they show them more prominently in the sequel.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks they're ghey.

methinks you are

Still though, I'm glad they were underplayed - robots in disguise and all that

I guess I'm the only one who thinks they're ghey.

Probably so. I love the insignias as a whole/concept/idea.

I, like Shockwave2005 am VERY happy they were downplayed and more subtle. It's nice not seeing 4 Autobot Symbols on a car that's suppsoed to be hidden.

In the movie it is explained that the Decepticons began as a separatist movement who splintered off from the Autobots - in fact, the Transformers never refer to themselves as Transformers in the movie. At one stage, they were all Autobots - and as the prequel comics explained, with Optimus Prime and Megatron ruling side-by-side (hence why Prime refers to Megatron as "brother" at the end) until Megatron and those loyal to his cause divorced themselves from the Autobots - and (according to the comic adaptation) for their treachery the separatists came to be known as 'Decepticons.' From the Autobots' POV, the Decepticons are all traitors.

Hmm...methinks I prefer the G1 Cartoon origins...it seems so rich....the 'bots and 'cons once slaves, all branded with the autobot insignia,

overthrew their erstwhile masters, then, in the ensuing power struggle, (between an up and coming megatron and optimus prime) they split into two separate factions- one bent on war, tyranny and destruction; the other on peace, freedom, and amity.

Its so rich....and how would Unicron tie into their origins? Man....the writers for the sequels (as I'm sure they'll be) have such rich source material..Hell I'd love to be a part of the team if I could..

but I did struggle to find any insignias. Guess I was wrong.

Hey, here's another sequel idea- they need to have some 'version' of Unicron attacking earth..maybe wiping out 90% of human life....the screams...the tears.....the hopeless cries..

To add to my last post, I think Prime stopping right in front of Sam and Mikaela, with his Autobot insignia in all it's glory in the center of the screen was enough for me.

And as for Unicron, if they were ever to bring him into the movie (which would be a little ridiculous) he would have to be a Meteor, because you'd have to deal with all these scientific problems, having a planet sidle up to another planet and all.
