Inside Jokes in the Movie

Recommended Posts

As corny as some of them were, I'm really glad they threw in so many throwbacks and references to G1 in the movie. I can't remember them all off the top of my head, but it would be fun to see if we can compile them all from memory.

They included:

"One shall stand, one shall fall."- Optimus Prime

"That dog is leakin' lubricants on my foot. - Ironhide (this one made me chuckle)

And a few "sort of" references:

The classic transformation sound

"You've failed me yet again, Starscream."- Megatron

I know there's more (some terribly obvious), but I'm having a mind block. Anyone else have anything to contribute to the list?

"There's more to them than meets the eye"-I'm pretty sure Optimus says something like (if not exactly) this in regards to the humans while answering Ironhide's query of why they're working to protect them.

Prime doesn't use that line until the end of the movie when sending his message to other possible autobots.

"Though we are worlds apart, like us, there's more to them then meets the eye."

He asks Ironhide if they(cybertronians) were so different and "freedom is the right of all sentient(sp) beings."

The little girl was holding a My Little Pony doll, another toy manufactured by Hasbro and the truck that Ironhide erects as a shield against Starscream's missiles was a Furby truck - yet another Hasbro product.

Oh right. Now I'm remembering. I knew he said the freedom thing. I wasn't sure where the MTMTE thing was. I knew it was either there or at the end where he's sending that message. I just chose one, but it turned out it was the other.

Anyways, your spelling was correct Hitman.

red eyed cons, blue eyed bots, more of a homage though

Sam says to Mikalea that "there's something more than meets the eye, with you"

These aren't jokes but, Prime had energon blade, Meg's had a hand mase, Once again, the Decepticons are believed dead at the bottom of the sea, The Mountain dew Bot showed up, Mike's Towing (or what ever towing it was?) shows up....

I think that was a late addition, personally... I don't recall them having glowy eyes in early renders

and actually I seem to remember Megatron having blue eyes at one point...

Frenzy had blue eyes though FWIW

Actually, he said, "I think there's more to you than meets the eye."

The Energon Axe/Blade for Optimus and the hand mace for Megatron were really nice touches. I never would have thought in a million years that those little-used G1 weapons would make it into the movie.

Also, just thought of another one:

"Autobots, roll out!" -Optimus Prime
