Hopefully though, all jokes aside, we all know the real reason why Jazz's death was treated so coldly. There was no more time left in the movie.

Yeah, because there's no way they could've cut out something completely useless and retarded, like the Indian call center scenes, to make room for something that was actually meaningful and contributed to the story/character development.

I was actually more bothered by the fact that Jazz was killed off so unceremoniously. He was about the size of an ant during the actual death scene, due to the scale of Megatron and the building they were on (ironically one of the only shots in the movie that wasn't an extreme close-up), and it was all over and on to the next thing in about three seconds. If I hadn't already read a million spoilers about how he gets ripped in half I probably wouldn't have even known what happened.

Deaths aren't long drawn out scenes in real life FYI

I liked the scene as it was...and editing is such a difficult job to do, I think they did the best they could with the material they had.

For all of those holding on to a dream, I really don't think they'll be bringing Jazz back for the sequel. Maybe they'll bring in Blaster to fill the role of the black guy. . . Oh Jesus and rice, what if they do and he rhymes every other sentence. As long as there's no Wheelie.

Hey Prime has a peice of the allspark.. and a busted up warrior.. put two and two together. =) It worked for frenzy getting his body restored. So I don't really think Jazz is out for good.. but that's just speculating ..

Yeah, my thougths exactly... I have no idea what they're planning for the sequal, but, as you say, Prime has a piece of the Allspark, and also, since when did Transformers stay dead? :P

On the other hand, how much did we see of the decepticons' deaths? Afaik, Barricade died offscreen? (I'm not sure, I remember something happening to someone, and you only saw a wheel fall into screen, but, I was too distracted by everything else to remember who/what it was ^^)

i remember a bunch of people saying that and saying that it's barricade, but no, it's not. it's random car on the road being used a shield. i even watched it in slow mo, and it's not barricade

you heard it (and saw it) here first, barricade did NOT die in the movie.

i just realized that post was over a week ago, so sue me :P

Heh, appears to be a Mercedes E-Class.

I'd like to add that when they were throwing all of the robot bits into the abyss at the end, I saw no sign of Barricade amongst the debris.

I hope he stays dead. It cheapens Transformer deaths as a whole the way they NEVER die in fiction.
