To be a transformers fan do you have to like every line or can you just like one line i.e. G1 and not give a crap about all the other lines? Also this fandom wouldn't be for any type of purists now would it? Because it's the "Transformers fandom" not the "Transformers Energron fandom", "Transformers Armada fandom", etc... So what the hell fandom are the rest of us apart of?

I say you're a transformers fan if you like...TRANSFORMERS!! To me, it doesn't matter if it's G1 or Energon, or somewhere in between. I'll always have my favorites, like G1, but I'm not going to say the rest are anathema. I have an armada Optimus Prime (I like the design),and Unicron. I also am looking into getting Energon Omega Supreme and Energon Megatron when I can.

So, to me, it doesn't matter what series you like. I have my opinions, yes, and i may state them. But my opinions do not invalidate anyone elses. In fact, the fact that we have varying opinions says a lot. But by no means does it say one fan is lesser than another. (And yes, I plan on getting Alternator Sideswipe, Hound, Jazz and Prowl (when he comes out!!) )

Exactly. I have liked aspects of all the different lines of Transformers. I grew up with G1, so that will always be close to my heart. However, this does not mean G1 is the end all and be all of TF's. When I started collecting again, the newer lines were kind of a culture shock for me, and there was a period of adjustment. With that said, I can appreciate and enjoy things from all the different lines of TF's now without them having to be G1 homages. What it comes down to for me is: right design + right colors = great figure.

I saw the first new episode of Energon today. It was great. Things are starting to get interesting.

JackKnife, get E. Megs. It's totally worth it. :tfgrin

You mean GunStar One? Hell yeah!! As a matter of fact, go to Starship modeler.com. there, you can find info on it, as well as places that sell the resin kit of it!!

also, read all the stuff there at the site. It is the NUMBER ONE place for building models, and has enough info there to help anyone with whatever they need. The tips page alone is worth the price of admission!!

The kids whether you want to believe it or not were pivital in the outcome. They were more useful than Spike was. Starscream never would have been the emotionally driven character he was without the kids.

Okay, I understand that the kids have a more important role. That's cool. However, it doesn't justify a show that is about Transformers being focused on the kids 90% of the time, If I wanted to hear kids yell and argue with each other, I would open a window and listen to the kids across the street from me. I don't see how a camping trip, hearing them whine about how hungry they are and telling each other to shut up advances the plot. Armada had a lot of potential, the kid characters could have been written waaay better and would have still played an important role without taking up 17 of 22 minutes of the episode. It had potential, and it's painful to watch something that could be great fall on its face instead.

90% ? That's a bit of an exaggeration. I agree that they focused a little too much on the kids but I would say they were in the story 30 or 40% of the time. Really the only kid I found annoying was Fred. But he's got an excuse he's fat, an asmatic, and a diabetic. If you had all three of these problems you'd be whining too.

And just back up what I said, he mentioned his blood sugar many times which means he's diabetic and he has an inhaler which he packed in the camping trip.

Good point. I'll probably revisit the series when it comes out on DVD (in the boxsets). 30-40% is still a lot IMO, but I think I will mention that the only two kids that never seemed to bother me were Rad and Alexis. Carlos was kind of annoying, but I never understood why the other two kids (Fred & Billy-is that his name?) were there the whole time. They seemed to serve no purpose other than to be annoying. There was a good storyline happening though, but it could've been better.

Also, as far as Armada the toyline goes, it had some great molds-Supercon Prime, Wheeljack, Blurr, Tidal Wave, Demolishor and Cyclonus. The others just seemed to fall short, sometimes just ever so slightly short of being awesome. That's what makes it the most irritating to me.

I think they should have kept Billy and Fred as the school bullies and not welcome them into the Autobot base. That's really the only problem I had with the Armada cartoon. The toys rock IMO.

Actually, Animorphs was TF's/ It says so on the package.

The only problems I have with Armada are:

1: Bricks. Lots and Lots of bricks. You can tell its a Hasbro Line because they had to make something the size of Unicron to have any noticable ammount of articulation.

2:Show.Kids and no good combat until the last Episode. Seriously, most of the show was Kids whining and The TF's hiding behind rocks and shooting at each other without so much as aiming.

I don't really care about articulation. It sometimes brings the figure down durabilty-wise. I look for play value and overall good looks, which most of Armada has.

Articulation was one of my complaints about G1. if you couldn't pose it, then what was the point? As for durability, it depends on how well you design the joints.
