The worst transformers line would have to be everything non g1. Then again g1 is the ONLY real transformers line anywayz. I'm pretty certain that the suits at Hasbro don't give a damn about us or else they wouldn't market crap like Energon and Universe. Even for a little kid's standards I would have to say the toys are still a disgrace. Please no more talks about Energon ever again. I'm better than Energon and IT'S REALLY becoming a Boooooooore.

I'm waiting for Bodycount to make a scathing comment on you. Man, what did you backup your statement with? How about giving us an intelligent reason on why you think non-G1 toys suck? It's people like you who give this fandom a bad name.

I'm not angry at people who think that G1 is still the best toyline. That's their opinion, and totally cool. But what annoys me is how people keep parading G1 as the Holy Grail because they're too blinded with nostalgia to see the advancements of Transformers after 20 years, and lambast the newer lines with juvenile comments.

Oh, back in the topic, I think Machine Wars is the worst. MX-01 made a good point regarding why he thinks Armada sucked, so it is a second for me. I mean, look at Energon. This year, we had great molds like Shockblast, Mirage, OS and many more for Energon. But during Armada which was released only less than 2 years ago, we had crap-ugly molds like Sideswipe and Smokescreen, not to mention the return to brick Transformers making it a downgrade from RID.

Machine wars cant be as bad as Action Masters. They were transformers that didnt transform. I understand that they were an attempt at a stab into the gijoe/actionfigure-esq. market, but in all honesty, they were ok for a while but weren't as fun to play with. Machine wars saw the best coloring of Skyquake as Starscream (now King Atlas for some reason??). And i think that mold is a cooler toy than any action master produced. I admit the carded ones were weak but the boxed ones were pretty good.

By the way, are we ignoring Animorphs or that still part of the poll? If not , the poll should be revised. (if there's a way to do it). :tfhuh (Built to Rule was pretty bad...more like built-to-sit-on-the-store-shelf-and-be-a-piece-of-crap :tflaugh )

PS: for some reason i really disliked the way beast wars figures (and even after) were made with ball-joint appendiges (sorry if its spelled incorrectly). It seemed really cheapy to me. Hence i despised toys that were made similarly. It really aggrivated me at the time b/c they were so flimsy. Any added pressure in the wrong direction resulted in a limb loss. How are you going to play hard with something like that as a kid? I have since accepted it and appreciate BW and the like. (i regret not collecting them now, doh!)

I am really glad that energon toys dont have the same ball-joint config. though :clap

They dont, do they :wtf

ARGH! STUPID G1 PURIST! Don't forget that most of the G1 toys were non-posable bricks. Also, Energon and Universe are definitely NOT crap. Rather, Energon shows you how far the Transformers have gotten since G1 (increased posability, cool (IMHO) new gimmicks, and (IMHO) even cooler redecos) and Universe is a chance for people to get toys they missed in previous lines.

Now, responding to the poll, I chose Animorphs, because Animorphs wasn't even an actual Transformers line. The books were really cool, though.

I can't wrap my brain around why people hate Armada. Armada rocked. I think people hate it cause they compare it to G1. For example "Armada Starscream sucks just because he's not like G1 Starscream." instead of just accepting him as the great character he was. Armada never tried to be G1 and it wasn't. It was different and G1 fans couldn't handle change. I'm a G1 fan and I liked it cause I was fully aware that it was different. If I had to pick I wouldn't pick Animorphs cause 1) they're not Transformers and 2) I never bought any. So I'd have to pick RID cause they were only half good. The Autobots were cool, but the Decepticons were all crummy repaints except for Megatron who had 10 modes that didn't resemble anything. For a line to be great both sides have to get the same treatment. Armada had great Decepticon toys. Megatron looked like a death machine.

I didn't like Armada because it moved too slow and spent way too much time on kids Starscreaming at each other and taking camping trips instead of focusing on...I dunno...the TRANSFORMERS? That is what the show title is after all. Some of the character development was good ('Screamer & Hotshot), but whenever I watch an episode I can't help but think it should've been called Kids:Armada. If they had cut the kids out the show would've been 100% better. However, it did bring us Energon, and that is a good thing. :tfgrin

My opinion is that armada and animorphs should have been scrapped in their development and never poke its head in to the public eye. The show especially ruined tf reputation, disgusting. And animorphs, what he hell! It not a TF line! HOW DARE.....besides, a few machine wars figs. even made it into RID. Plus, most of the armada toys are a almost shadow image of what it looked like way back in G1, which will always be the greatest line for complete originality and design which made it nostalgic.

Armada certainly did not ruin TF's reputation. Sure, it soured a lot of the fans towards it, but in the demographic that counted, the kids, the whole line scored the highest the line has ever seen, relatively speaking.

While some people actually say Armada sucks because their just narrow-minded G1 purists, others like me, were disappointed by it because it could have been so much better. A sizable number of bots in Armada had some rather bad molds, while there is of course no denying that it had its highlights too (Bendy Prime, Unicron, Wheeljack, etc.), but it could have been done so much better. A lot of people also found it a step down from RID, and the Armada cartoon didn't help things either. There are many TFans who have intelligent reasons why they dislike Armada. I for one thought Armada is a far cry from Energon today, but still the line has its pluses and this made it a very profitable toyline and popular with the kids, and I bought a lot of Armada figs too.

You are right on the money! I live in a toy companies R&D dream...an orphanage. These kids have more spending money than they know what to do with. I can tell you what toys they like and what they don't before most parents have any clue about what to get little Johnny for his birthday. What was a hit was Armada. Like 'em or not, the Minicons sold the line. In fact, I brought out my box of Minicons today and the girls couldn't stop playing with them. Girls and Transformers?? Yep, they do mix.
