Honest question: How does one determine what the "most logical transformation scheme" is?

What makes the most sense. I chose this scheme mostly for the toes to fingers quick change and for the fact that it is easier to hide the dino head and neck in the bot mode chest than it would be to hide the whole big tail in the chest. Big tail = well proportioned legs, poseable fingers that were dino toes means better pose options for both the dino and bot modes. Dino neck opening up means that the bot head is easily concealed with out blocking the different transformation possibilities. Ahh you'll understand better once you see my transformation sequence step by step.

By the way you asked for dino tanks so what do you think of the T-rex tank?

Well, what I had mentioned was an actual Earth tank that unfolds into a dinosaur for robot mode, and you've created a very "Transmetal" hybrid of the two.

It's cool visually, but I still think it suffers from the cartoon logic problems needed for its creation.

It'd be a cool and easy kitbash: Classics Grim + Transmetal Rhinox's rear legs and Transmetal Rattrap's front legs. Paint, mount gun, done.

No not quite. I want to make him stand 10" tall in bot mode and be really kick ass. That's right leader class Grimlock.

At 10" he'd be smaller than the Frenzy that came with Deluxe Barricade. If you mean 10', then he'd most definitely be a scout class figure since Jazz is the smallest of the non-minion (this means Frenzy and Scorponok) cast TFs and he's fourteen feet tall. Now if you mean somewhere in the 20-40 foot range, then yeah. Leader Class would be a decent toy for Grimlock.

:07redface Um bro I meant the figure of him I'm planning to build. Measure your movie leader class Optimus he's about 10" tall.

I voted for robotic/mechanical dinosaurs, the way I understand this is similar how the Dinobots where built in the cartoon series, as getting the idea from fossils, in that way is unnecessary the TF's went to the earth so years before (two much time in my opinion), and that can cause the fact that don't look like real organic dinosaurs, but metallic ones, ala Cybertron...

Also the idea of the Dinobots being military vehicles is a good idea, or better not the Dinobots but other Autobots...

Oh. Okay. Well, then, by all means, go ahead.

Personally I'd like to see 'em done up the same way as The Dinobots IDW exclusive Comic (where the track down shockwave to early earth) There they take on Fleshy Dino bodies, but eh flesh gets burned off, and presto instant G1 Dinos.. Anyway as Far as the Dinos origin IN the Movie, I'd like to see them as the 1st attemted Transformers made using the Allspark Shard, it cant MAKE transformers OUT of normal machines, but can bring them to life (Matrix anyone) Personally I'd like to see em start as Dino statues and have the "flesh" get removed in battle.

A triple changing military vehicle-mechanical dinosaur-robot.

I doodled this up a while ago. I keep losing track of my thought whenever I try to make the robot mode.

I really need to redraw this and get that robot mode finished.
