New 'Transformers' Theme Revealed

The constant clash between what fans think Transformers deserves and what the rest of the world thinks it deserves just gets really old to me.

Well, that ranks right up there with the Ghostbusters and Addams Family raps.

EDIT: I almost forgot the Ninja Rap from TMNT2!

Nothing is as good as "Go Ninja" Vanilla Ice for LIFE go ninja go ninja go

It's awesome, it's not rap, and it's a new twist on an old favorite. STFU, fanboy.

Love the guitars. Very nice. And the robotic voice under the the regular ones, that brought back memories.

Which reminds me...

The constant clash between what fans think Transformers deserves and what the rest of the world thinks it deserves just gets really old to me.

ya rly... TRY LISTENING TO THE F'N SPIDERMAN 1 SOUNDTRACK IF YOU NEED A POINT OF REFERENCE FOR THIS SONG

Autobots are watching over you?

like... during my "special time" on the couch at night?

Just like us going to the monkey house at the zoo.

it's adictive and i can definately see it being the song played over the end credits adn to be honest. it could have been far far worse, it could have been some mediocre pop band or a full on rap song which would have made me want to strangle someone, it's a comprimise i think for those who want rap and those who want rock

i can see why some people are complaining, but it suits the film, it's not as bad as it's being made out to be.

This is pretty godawful

it's not even fun-cheesy, it's just bad

Thank you for having good taste, sir.

As I mentioned before, this piece is definately not Rap. Rap is a very distinct style which consists almost strictly of rhyme and rhythm and covers a very limited subject matter and style. It isn't simply anything with spoken lyrics. There are a number of musical compositions which have lyrics which are spoken rather than sung, including several Country and Rock compositions. If anyone has heard Charlie Daniels Band's The Devil Went Down to Georgia (and who hasn't) you know what I mean. All of the lyrics in that piece are spoken not sung, yet it is definately not a Rap.

This new theme is a combination of Rock and Techno. The Techno aspect comes from the heavy use of synthesizers and electronic voice modulators to create the robotic vocals. The Rock aspect comes from the guitars, drums and unmodulated singers. It is definately very well done and, as someone else mentioned quite adicting. It has an edgy feel and the lyrics tell a story. There isn't anything goofy or cartoonish about it. It fits with the movie quite well. I could definately feel this fitting in the end credits perfectly, or even the beginning credits for that matter. Hell, I think it could fit in as background music for certain scenes within the movie itself. Imagine hearing this as the Autobots are driving down the highway at high speed as they race to battle the Decepticons just before the climax of the film. And then, just as the song ends, they transform and crash head-long into battle, with instrumentals and percussions booming as the two armies clash.

Agreed. The best thing they could do with this is put it in the end credits so you can walk out if you want to. Instrumentals should be predominant in this film - as Bay has reminded us constantly this isn't 80's TFs - the series needed to evolve in order to work as a live action movie. So does the music - a variation on the classic (but cheesetastic) cartoon theme would suck as the main title theme.
