"Father, give me legs!"

OK, Spoiler warning...ish..

Sam takes Bumbleebee on to MTV's Pimp My Ride and he gets tricked out by Chuck D!

so... who are these people that don't remember that?

:Points at ummm.... let's just say... Terracon Blot:

Oh come on now! At least pick someone like Tramp or something....I am not a punchline!

oh... sorry...

ok ok... hmmm... who wouldn't remember.... I got it!

:points at Glue:

Well, I know I remember it. I am quite old enough to, having been a teenager when these characters and toys came out. What is kind of funny though is I missed out on the original G1 minibot Bumblebee. The first incarnation of him I owned was Goldbug, then the Pretender, and finally the G2 metalized Minibot version.

In G1 Bumblebee was blown apart by G.I. Joe, who at the time didn't realise what Bumblebee was (until Mainframe tried to reassemble the "car" that they'd destroyed only to discover that the technology was way over his head) - then the Joes were in for a nasty surprise when Superion came and paid them a little visit to avenge their little friend's death. All the Joes' artillery were utterly ineffective against Superion and he probably would've annihilated the Joes if he weren't recalled by Autobot HQ.

Bumblebee was later rebuilt as Goldbug. But later on Goldbug and the other Throttlebots were headhunted by Circuit Breaker who handed them over to the R.A.A.T. who summarily executed them with a trash compactor - although their brains had been secretly removed beforehand by Walter Barnett who then installed them into toy RC cars... although the Predacons still recognised them in their toy forms and gave them a jolly chase through a shopping mall. Ultimately the Throttlebot brains were retrieved by the Autobot crew of the Steelhaven (under the command of Fortress Maximus) and restored. Goldbug was then one of the many casualties of the Underbase Saga and of course, later rebuilt by Ratchet as Pretender Bumblebee.

Wow, until I saw this thread I didn't realise the actual difference between the two Deluxe Bumblebees, i.e.: that they were different model Camaros... damnit! Initially I was only gonna get the 08 Camaro and skip the 74 one (not really appreciating what those numbers even stood for) - but this thread makes me wanna have both Bumblebees!!

So far I'm regretting getting movie BB with his halfassed transformation between an Alt and a Cybertron figure. But I can't wait to get the UBB and throw his doors open and grunt/huffandpuff through that transformation process.

You were expecting an BT/ALT level of transformation from a Deluxe figure??

Perhaps CR/RiD level would be more realistic - although CR/RiD had more liberty with their toy designs since they were designed independently as toys, whereas the movie figures would have been designed around the movie characters.

No, I wasn't but when I got to his legs/feet it makes me think of a halfass alt design that wasn't thought through. His feet especially.

Movie BB is pretty weak as a toy.

No love here.
