FWIW it only recently occured to me that Cyb Prime was meant to be a fire truck.

what conclusion? I just said what i'd like (an my firetruck of the future was in response to your "Just realizing OP was a fire truck"). And I don't think G1 really focused on them staying hidden.

The "APC" from Aliens was an airplane tug (for dragging things like 747s around the tarmac at an airport). The entire outside of it was a fake shell.

Uhhh, this show is NOT based on the Classics line. Classics are over.

 

This new show is supposed to be set in the "future" so expect more stylized "futuristic" designs for everyone.

I certainly hope so. I'm getting sick and tired of alt-modes that look like regular vehicles which were riced-out to avoid copyright infrignment. That just makes the alt-modes look cartoonish and fake when compaired to the real world alt-modes they were ripped from. At least with futuristic vehicles, there's no real world counterpart to compair them to so you don't have to suspend disbelief as much.

 

That's the second concern I have about the new cartoon. The first and more important concern is that the stylized animation models might lead to toys with designs and engineering similar to that of the FABs. That would be even worse than Armada. I could understand Hasbro wanting to simplify the transformations but using the FAB style of engineering is going overboard.

 

Aside from those two concerns, I'm looking forward to the new cartoon.
