Dont Open the Allspark!

No, they're the Disciples of Jesus.

Last I checked, Adam and Eve didn't betray the Sheppard, the serpent did, and he took them down with him.

*Munches popcorn, watches this go.*

Argh, total disappointment, thought this was going to be a thread comparing the new TF move to 80's stop-motion LEGEND Trapdoor.

"Don't open that Allspark... there's something in there."

No, they're the Disciples of Jesus.

Adam and Eve were tempted by evil to do what was forbidden, and were cast out of paradise. The Fallen was tempted by Unicron and fell from grace. Liege Maximo also turned to evil, falling from grace and spawning thos who would one day become the Decepticons.

If you want to look at the Disciples, there is plenty of evidence that suggests that Judas did not truely betray Christ, but was, in fact told by Christ to hand him over. This was mentioned in the documentary The Complete Story of Jesus, on the Discovery Channel. The original Greek word translated in the English as "betray" in reference to Judas, actually translates to hand over when used elsewhere. If you remember, Jesus specifically tells Judas to do what he must do. He told him to hand him over. Technically, that is not a betrayal. The other factor is that resulted in Judas being considered a traitor is that the other disciples probably felt that Judas had betrayed Jesus by handing him over. Judas wasn't tempted by the Devil to betray Jesus. He was told to hand Jesus over to the Pharases by Jesus himself. So, once again, the Apostle analogy fails.

No, the most appropriate analogy for the Original 13 is that of Adam and Eve. Like their Biblical counterparts, the Original 13 were the first creations of their god, Primus, one of whom was tempted by the "devil", Unicron and fell from grace.

Regardless, I think we're getting too much into religeon than we probably should.

They aren't a combination of both.

And that, my friends, is why the world is so messed up :roll

And if you want to look at what the common masses know, Judas is a right pratt, betrayed Jesus and had no remorse.

Anyone who read the bible nows better ofcourse, but what does it matter.

They are obvious parallels of the Disciples, Twelve of them plus one other.

The only one of the thirteen who is mentioned in a modern context is Vector Prime who has uber skills, and dies to save the Transformers (Rather, dies in this timestream being as he is a bit hard) and the one who fell.

No, they are not. The Apostles were not the first creations of God formed from the very ground itself. None of them were tempted by the Devil. Adam and Eve were the first creations of God, according to the Bible, and they were tempted to do wrong, to the doom of man (according to the Bible, because of their sin, we all die). That is the parallel to the Original 13. They are part of the creation of the Trasformers. They were the first creations of Primus from his very body, Cybertron. One of their number was tempted by the "devil, Unicron to nearly the doom of them all. That is the parallel. The fact that their were 13 members, (one more than 12) has nothing to do with it. The story of the Original 13 is a creation story, just as Adam and Eve are.

Also, Vector Prime is not the only member of the Original 13 known. Their are three others, four in all have been confirmed: Vector Prime, Alpha Trion, Liege Maximo, and the Fallen. That leaves nine unnamed. TF: More Than Meets the Eye #1 confirms Alpha Trion's place as one of the originals in the very first sentence of his bio text—"Considered only a myth by many, Alpha Trion is believed to be one of the first Trtansformers." The Fallen's write-up in TF;mTMtE #8 also confirms him as one of their number. According to Marvel's Transformers Generation 2, Liege Maximo was the true "father" of the Decepticons. The opposite number to the first "Prime." That makes four of the Original 13 named and confirmed.
