Dont Open the Allspark!

Recommended Posts

I've been a fan of Clive Barker's stuff for years and seeing the designs on the Allspark do kinda jump out at me and shout Hellraiser.

All the more reason why its origins should state that it was created by an amoral elder god. Seriously, if it turns out that the Allspark was created by a benevolent entity like Primus, I'll eat my hat. That thing is just too evil looking to have been created for a benvolent purpose.

Yay, Unicron :thumb

I do however think that he would need to be redone (Appearance wise) for the film (assuming here that he is put in I mean) Satanic refference was all well and good for the original, but I don't think it works in the modern context.

Atleast, not have his altmode as it is to make his Robo-mode satanic.

Or just leave him in energy form(Scary cloud, planet enveloping cloud) and refer to it as Unicron.

That would be okay :thumb

LOL on this thread

You had me until you said "Unicron" :roll

If you don't like my idea, just say so. For the record, what do you think would make for an interesting origin for the allspark? I just think that it should have been created by some nightmarish elder god because of it's similar appearence to the Lament.

An interesting origin for the Allspark? How's this idea? The Allspark, a revered object of Transformer society, an object which keeps their world and their people alive and running (or something like that according to the comics) is actually a weapon of unbelieveable power that requires the energy of entire worlds to activate. It synchronizes itself with a planet's energy (including the energies of those populating that planet, if present) and remains in a dormant state until activated by some unknown source (your Elder God or something to that end). Once activeated, the Allspark, very quickly, drains the life energy from the planet and its inhabitants, causes the planet's star system to collapse upon itself (essentially it creates a black hole), and opens a doorway into a sealed dimension. From this dimension can come forth any number of horrors (again, your elder god thingies or whatever you want to work here) which will proceed to unravel and destroy the very fabric of that universe's reality. Once that universe is destroyed, these creatures send the Allspark into another dimension and await the time when it has sufficiently latched itself onto another planet's life energy.

The creatures repeat this process over and over for any number of reasons (hey, i'm setting up the situation, not the motives) and the Allspark is always the key. It is because of the Allspark's misunderstood nature that it is such a "hot" item so to speak. It ironically empowers a world while simultaneously setting it up for the penultimate end of days. It does this without anyone knowing the wiser. Prime and the Autobots are unaware. Megatron and the Decepticons are unaware. They are fighting over the very thing which will end their universe's existance...

...and no one is none the wiser.

THAT (or some variation of it) would be a kick-ass origin for the Allspark because it sets up a trilogy timeline for the movie. In the first one, we have the Autobots and Decepticons arriving on Earth in search of the Allspark. Megs is reawakened, there is a battle royal, as one would expect, and at the very end of the movie, as Prime and Megs are duking it out, Spike somehow discovers what the Allspark actually is. Prime kicks Megs's butt finally, just as Spike tells him what he has found out. This leaves us on the cliffhanger. What happens next? What has Spike discovered and what will Prime decide to do with the Allspark?

Sequel: The movie opens with an explanation of the origins of the Allspark, as I described above, then cuts back to Earth. Prime, with the new knowledge of what the Allspark is, decides that the only way to deal with it now is to destroy it. He and the Autobots decide that they must launch the Allspark into a black hole somewhere in the galaxy when Megs and his crew suddenly come back. A big battle ensues, resulting in the deaths of Ironhide and Barricade. Megs, after pounding the crap out of Prime (thanks to some new "enhancements" he picks up (read: Ironhide's arms!)) gains the Allspark. Prime tries to tell him what the Allspark really is, but Megs, of course, does not listen (or does he), and after some quick consideration, decides that the Autobots and the planet Earth itself have become a liability to his plans. Megs attempts to use the Allspark's destructive capabilities by "hacking" into it (in an attempt to control it) and in doing so, winds up not only destroying himself, but lays waste to everything within 200 miles of his location. The explosion, of course, grabs the attention of the U.S. authorities. The Autobots and Decepticons, barely functional after Megs's destruction, are captured by the gov't and taken to Area 51. Spike, saved by Bumblebee at the last second, regains the Allspark again, but has no way of rescuing the Autobots. He looks up at the sky wondering what he should do next, just in time to see a fiery object streak across the sky and crash into the ground several miles away from his location. Spike starts to walk towards the object. CLIFFHANGER: Who or what just crashed to Earth and will Spike be able to locate and rescue the Autobots?

Sequel: The object which crashed to the ground is the Autobot known as TRAILBREAKER. Trailbreaker had escaped Cybertron late after the other Autobots left because of a particular mission he was on (fill in details however you like). Trailbreaker, immediately detects the Allspark's presence and finds it in the possession of Spike. Spike quickly fills him in on the details regarding the Autobots' current situation, how he came to be in the possession of the Allspark, and most importantly, what the Allspark really is. Trailbreaker, stunned by the scenario, searches for a vehicle to scan, but because of Megs's destruction, can find nothing viable to use. Thus, he is forced to transform into his CYBERTRONIAN ALT MODE. Spike and Trailbreaker leave the area, heading out towards the American Southwest where Spike thinks Area 51 is located. (Trailbreaker will later assume the alt mode of a military Hummer with a covered canopy). Meanwhile, inside Area 51, gov't scientists are beginning to experiment and disassemble the transformers. Jazz, Starscream, and Brawl are all disassembled quickly as they had all sustained incredible amounts of damage. Prime, still conscious, is pleading with his human captors to release them as there is an unimaginable threat loose on their world. The humans, of course, do not listen. Prime is taken off line just as we get back to Spike and Trailbreaker. Now with his Hummer camoflague, Trailbreaker and Spike are able to sneak into Area 51 by following a convoy of gov't trucks into the compound. Just as they are about to get into the compound there is a commotion on the other side of the base. They're under attack by UNKNOWN BOGEYS: Thundercracker, Skywarp, and Blitzwing (Blitzwing does retain his Triplechanger abilities. He transforms from a harrier Jet into a U.S. military tank (whichever you want) and back during the battle). While Spike sneaks into the base, Trailbreaker engages the Decepticons and yes, he DOES use his forcefield! After taking down Thundercracker and Skywarp, Blitzwing transforms into bot mode and they duke it out. Meanwhile inside, Spike gets himself down into the hanger where the bots are being stored. Bumblebee is half disassembled but conscious and notices Spike. He motions to a control panel which the scientists used to deactivate Prime. the scientists, thanks to the base being under attack, have all cleared out, but not all the soldiers. Spike is seen and fired on, but he manages to avoid the soldiers. He reactiveates Prime who breaks free of his harness and dispatches the soldiers. Spike tells Prime that Trailbreaker is outside, and it is at that moment that a massive explosion is heard. Spike and Prime, unable to do anything for the other bots at that moment, break out of the hanger in time to see that a huge aerial strike had just occured. Blitzwing has been destroyed, but Trailbreaker has not (thanks to his forcefield which saved him in the last second). Prime awakens Trailbreaker and just as they are returning to the hanger to restore Ratchet so he can fix the Autobots, Trailbreaker detects a command that has just been issued over the military airwaves: NUKE AREA 51. Prime and Trailbreaker realize that this situation will not end well. Prime orders Trailbreaker to try and protect the Autobots with his forcefield as Ratchet attempts repairs. Prime tells Spike that he must destroy the Allspark now because there is no telling what could happen if it were caught in the blast. Spike gives Prime the Allspark. Prime then sheds his camoflague and transforms into entry mode. He launches himself into space. Spike runs next to Trailbreaker as he activates his defensive shields. The bombs fall... [fade to black]

Several hours later, a U.S. spyplane flies over the blast site searching for any signs of survivors. The area is completely annihilated...except for one hanger which strangly is still standing, albeit empty...

Jump to seven years later...

The gov't officially closes the files on the "Area 51 Incident," claiming that all N.B.E. (Non-Biological Entities) were destroyed. Spike's father slowly opens his son's room, which he has left the same since seven years prior when Spike vanished. A frown crosses his face and he turns to leave when he notices something: a note on Spike's bed that he hadn't seen before. The note reads that Spike is alive and well and is helping some "friends" restore their home to normal. He will return once everything is back to normal and that he loves his father. Spike's dad starts to cry, just as the phone rings. He goes to answer it and it's Spike! His dad asks him where he is, to which Spike replies "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." The camera zooms out to reveal that Spike is ON CYBERTRON calling his Dad with the use of a device which looks like a cellphone with a small radar antenna dish attached. Prime and Bumblebee can be seen in the background.

These are super intelligent tencnological beings that can do anything. And they should!!! We dont need no stinkin' objects!!!

I am sick the Original 13 and that BS with the Allspark and the cube - Zzzzzzzzzzz! Such mamby pamby concepts made up to keep the boys on the run for that ever so secret past - Ooooooo. I am tired of elders, ancient origins, hidden linage, and all this crap and wizardry that gets swirled in from the fantasy world all the time. Why cant the Transformers be some cosmic force? Some uber technology? Some essence of War evolved without making it another take on Lord of the Matrix? :puke

Read books like True Names, Neuromancer, Snowcrash, Schizmatrix, Software and Valis and then tell me there aren't options for the Transformers. There is a future ya know? B-)

*Has never read a Science fantasy in his life*

I would suggest war be like the stuff presented by Stephen Baxter (Xeelee sequence, the... series who's name I forget etcetera) but that has humanities battle tactics as "Throwing eggs at a wall" so I doubt it would go down to well with society these days.

And Temporal paradoxes that make sense.

Lord I hate time Paradoxes.

I will admit that IF it were possible to bring Transformers out of the current realm of fandom lore, that would be AMAZING. I'm really looking forward to the movie because I think that it might be the first step in the right direction. The difficulty involved, I think, with all this Allspark crap is that we need the bots to be here for some kind of purpose. Now, if it were, oh I dunno, what's going on in the IDW comics continuity (galactic colonization), then that would be something.

Personally, I like the mythic elements which are a part of TF lore. It makes sense that there would be. Every culture and society has its myths, its gods and heroes, Why shouldn't Cybertronians? Primus is their "God", Unicron is their "Satan", The Allspark is their source of life, The Spark is their soul. The "original 13" is their "Adam and Eve", so to speak. It makes perfect sense to have these elements as part of the Transformers history and lore.

As for the similarities in design between the movie Allspark and the puzzle cube from Hellraiser, the only similarity is that they are both cube shaped. There really is more to differentiate them from one another than there are similarities. A Jedi Holocron from Star Wars has an appearance more in common with that of the "Puzzle box" than does the Allspark, and even that is only superficial at best.

The "original 13" is their "Adam and Eve"

More like their Apostles of Jesus.

Sept theres 13, cos firteen is evil and the firteenth is like Satan lawl.

I don't like that idea, as you might be able to tell. :redface

That certainly explains why the decepticons look the way they do :tflaugh1 I hope it's revealed in the sequal that the allspark was created by Unicron(who in the movie universe, is a elder god of some sort) and that the tf's were suppose to be his army with which he would conquer the universe but the original 13 rebelled against him, stole the Allspark, and resettled on Cybertron :schin

I was hoping unicron would be a cloud
