I was hoping unicron would be a cloud

Clouds are too boring and uncreative. Movie-Cron should like like a giant space-born organism of some sort. Like maybe a giant virus that feeds on entire planets like its microscopic kin feed on organic cells.

nah, it'll be a giant dude in purple paints & headgear who gets off on devouring the life energies of other worlds >.>

The "original 13" is their "Adam and Eve"

More like their Apostles of Jesus.

No, more like Adam and Eve. That is because in both cases, they were the first creations of their respective races. The only differences are that in the case of the Bible, only two were created, while, in the case of the Transformers, there were 13 created first. We know the names of four of them, but who the other nine are is a mystery.

So, where did this "original 13" idea come from anyway? The first place I ever heard of it was in the Dreamwave comics which, as cool as they were, really shouldn't be considered "canon"...If anything, they bungled up the mythos more than it needed :roll

Look, I'm pretty sure that the concept of Primus having 13 original children was based on Jesus and the 12 Deciples. They just added a 13th Deciple because it's more fitting for Primus to have been betrayed by child #13 since 13 is an unlucky number. They really don't have anything in common with Adam and Eve other than both groups being the first creations of their respective deities. Stop thinking so literally.

I would have to disagree with you whole-heartedly on that. The reamwave stories were some of the best TF stories ever written, and the art was incredible. What killed them was poor financial management, not poor story-telling.

What gave you that idea? The Original 13 weren't disciples of Primus, they were his first creations. The progenitors of the entire Cybertronian race from whom all others are descended from, just as Adam and Eve are the Biblical progenitors of humanity. That ties them more as an analogy with Adam and Eve, than it does the 12 Apostles. The numbers have nothing to do with it.

Again, you're thinking too literally. Just because the 13 were the first creations of Primus, that doesn't make them the equivilent of Adam and Eve. The 13 don't even play the same role. They were created to fight Unicron, not propagate the entire transformer race. No, their roles are much closer to that of Jesus and the Deciples. 13 members and one of them(The Fallen) betrays them.

The Original 13 were created to be the progenitors of the Transformers race. It is the race which was created to fightt Unicron when the time came, not these specific individuals. Thus, their roles are closer to those of Adam and Eve, not the 12 Apostles. Secondly, The Fallen is not the only one who was tempted by evil and "fell from grace". Liege Maximo did as well. He too is one of the Original 13.

Well let's compromise and say that they're a combination of both.

They aren't a combination of both.
