How's the Soundwave coming along? Are you posting anywhere on it? Looks like your heads are making their rounds, kudos and best of luck on the growing popularity!

 

As for your suggestion, I figured that was a solid route to go on Ironhide's feeling a bit blue still. I am looking for an out-of-box Nemesis Prime so I can swap the blue on Ironhide.

 

It's bugging me. Still reminds me of Prime, although the shoulder mod works well. I didn't shave anything, I just loosened the screw slightly, and it still works just as well.

 

I think I am going to make a Trailbreaker with slight blue hints. Just picked up a donor Rollbar at Wal-Mart, so he'll either lose his head to Trailbreaker and become Inferno, or he'll spare his windshield for Ratchet and be a parts-bot.

 

Wal-Mart I've found has Alternators back out on the shelves (since the movie's had it's run?), so I snagged a Ricochet as well. I think with a yellow coat to just the outside of the car, it would make a decent Bumblebee. No chances of you making a BB head for the Alts, is there? I talked to Ken and he said something about a KO RX-8 (yellow? If I remember correctly?) would be coming out soonish. *Hint Hint* I know you don't take requests but I've seen others work out there and you're the ONLY one I've seen pull off 100% factory quality heads. I could definitely pull off a decent sketch of the head, but sculpting it would be a biggie for me... Not sure if I'd be capable of pulling off your quality.

To answer your question, the Soundwave head is coming along just fine. I'm about ready to recast it but it might not be the final version. As I've mentioned before, I like to take my time with these because rush jobs usually look like they've been rushed. I'm attempting to make my Alternator Soundwave head the best yet. I've already finished the Scion so that there's no mistaking it for anyone else.

 

A yellow RX-8 would definitely make a decent Bumblebee. If I do make one, it might be a cross between a few of the variations I've seen on the Web. Of course, if I make a Bumblebee head I'll also have to make a Clilffjumper head while I'm at it. That'll be a lot of work because I still plan on making an Alternator Brawn head at some point . I have zero interest in making Gears or Huffer Alt heads. Sorry if you're a fan of either of those guys. As it stands now, I'm very happy that I've been able to complete the original 11 Deluxe Autobot cars.

Well, I have my new Alternator Stunticons done (minus decal schemes) and as long as Soundwave is done (Reissue is too old looking, and Music Label is too damn small! ARGH... Masterpiece? *crosses fingers*) I have all the car Decepticons that I want. And my Autobots (Almost, or in the works. I think Ratchet's my favorite until I can get Ironhide properly red-and-black and salvage a Trailbreaker while I'm at it) are done-ish as well.

 

Save for Bumblebee. I just snagged a Ricochet that could be a decent BB with a yellow coat and a Valkfan head. A CJ would be great, but I could spare him, so long as I get a Bumblebee.

 

So until Takara releases a Masterpiece Bumblebee with Spike and a Masterpiece Soundwave with 2-4 cassettes, here's looking forward to your Soundwave head. Don't rush it by any means, I'm just anxious to see the great work! :)

Okay, I've just acquired an Alternator Grimlock that's headless. So, I am in need of an unaltered Alternator Grimlock head with the original screws. I will trade a set of my Alt. Ironhide/Ratchet heads or you'll be the first person(besides me) to get my Alternator Soundwave head when it's done. I only need one so this offer is a first come first serve deal. Please don't contact me if you're somewhat iffy about it or you're thinking about possibly using the Alt. Grimlock head down the road. Contact me if and only if you're serious about a trade. Also, the Soundwave head is still being worked on so I don't have any pictures nor will I take some until it's done. You'll just have to trust in my ability and promise that it's going to be done right.

 

Again, I want to trade a set of my Ironhide/Ratchet heads or my soon to be completed Soundwave head for a complete Alt. Grimlock head.

Walmart carries a line of die cast toys by Maisto, and there's a camper VW Microbus in the line. It's not perfect for what you need but it might be worth a look. They make a number of other vehicles as well.

I think I'm going to try the hardtop look too. Looks good!

By the way, sorry to come onto this late, but where did you guys get the hard-tops? I'm considering making my Alt Ratchet a Korean war-era MASH 4077 jeep, but I like the hard-top look a lot ...

Those heads look incredible! Are they still available? And how would I go about ordering a Ratchet and Ironhide? How much? I made one Alt Ironhide out of Skids, but only cut down that head a bit, this mold looks amazing! I think my Ironhide would look great with that one you made.

I just got my Ratchet & Ironhide heads from valkfan. They're fantastic, they look so factory-like. Can't wait to use them.

 

I also bought that Jeep kit that Mandingo Rex posted, it's almost a perfect match. I'm going to use it for Brawn, and try and get it to look more G1ish by getting him customized with a chest under the jeep.
