eBay Bans Unmarked Megatron Gun Toys

Recommended Posts

I noticed on TFormers certain people already making the pre-requisite comments about how the anti-gun lobby blames the weapon not the person using it, and this is an obvious reaction to that.

But surely if there were no real firearms in circulation there wouldn't be a problem with toy ones?

*continues to enjoy living in a country where MP-05 is freely available in shops*

To quote George Carlin, "They're going to ban the TOY guns... and keep the f***ing REAL ONES!!!" :tflaugh

*wonders if this applies to WSTs*

Seriously, I don't know if the law is retroactive or not, but any and all original run G1 Megatrons should already be grandfathered in. Ebay's just about worthless nowadays anyway. I remember when you could get all kinds of great bootleg merchandise and black market Blot.

Ha, and I have one each of the G1 and WST Megs I need to sell somewhere. I never even thought about the WST being in violation. :tflaugh

Which is why Japan has zero problem with replica firearms such as MP Megatron etc.

But seriously, bringing up the gun issue is ghey anyway. There are perfectly easy ways to comply with the law. Stick an orange plug in the barrel. Done.

For the record I was joking... but it IS an unmarked Walther P-38, and it's not as if the other two are exactly to scale either.

I figured, but you did raise a good point. Technically the WST would have to comply as well.

So how long does anyone think this ban will last? I bet w/in a month, maybe 2, things will be back to normal.

I still wonder what the hell caused this. And regarding the conversion to real fire arms, I think either megatron gun will have any problem with that.

Seriously kids, just put a plug in it and who cares?

If having to put an esily removable orange piece of plastic in a childs plaything keeps one kid from accidently running out into the street and getting shot is all it takes, who gives a Powerglide if your collectable is no longer m i s b ?

WTF :wtf

When did the name of this planet change from Earth to planet USA?

So a seller from a country where it's perfectly legal to sell an oversized toy gun without an orange plug can't sell one on e-bay to a buyer from a country where this also isn't illegal, just because it is illegal in the USA. But the damn thing doesn't even go through the USA or has anything to do with it.

Just because the USA has a problem with this because of their stupid laws allowing real guns and banning toy guns doesn't mean the rest of the world should follow.

Think I'll go buy a nice big Samurai sword on e-bay and cut some peoples heads of. I mean, I can still buy a completely letal weapon on e-bay but I can't buy an oversized toy gun that can't do anything.

Heck, e-bay. I can do this in the USA itself. Plenty of very deadly weapons available which you can buy without any problems.

Effing STUPID.

:tdown

The item, seller, and buyer are located in the United States

The item is shipped within the United States

Glad to see ebay practices INTERNATION brotherhood, man i'm glad I live in the good-ol- USA (Sarcasim)

Who OWNS Ebay right now anyway? cause as I right now I prety much hate them, remind me to Vote this upcoming elections. So we can give Ebays CEO back his balls.
