eBay Bans Unmarked Megatron Gun Toys

Recommended Posts

Who OWNS Ebay right now anyway? cause as I right now I prety much hate them, remind me to Vote this upcoming elections. So we can give Ebays CEO back his balls.

eBay is publicly-owned with 87% of it held by insiders, institutions, and mutual funds. Most of the individual insiders are also the management/execs. The founder and chairman of the board is Pierre Omidyar. The CEO is Margaret Whitman.

You know, I still haven't opened my MP-05, and something tells me that unopened MP-05's could very well become one of the rarest and most sought-after toys of all time... *considers leaving it MIB* ...Oh wait, where am I going to sell it? :tfmad

How true :rofl

Seriously kids, just put a plug in it and who cares?

If having to put an esily removable orange piece of plastic in a childs plaything keeps one kid from accidently running out into the street and getting shot is all it takes, who gives a Powerglide if your collectable is no longer m i s b ?

I get what you're saying Elrod, but it's the principle of the thing. I fail to see why reasonable members of our society should have to jump through hoops to protect the lowest common denominator. It punishes everyone for the shortcomings of a few individuals. Besides, that's what the Darwin Awards are for.

Man, my favourite Darwin Award was the guy who tried to play Russian roulette with an automatic.

Anyway, I realize that as usual, the good old USA is dumbing things down, but this doesn't mean everyone, inside or outside the USA can't have a Megatron. It just requires an very removable .30c piece of orange plastic which you can promptly throw away on recieval.

I don't see how this is asking too much.

Welcome to Democracy. Where we take care of our own :roll

seriously, stick a fusing orange cap in the barrel it's not hard to remove.

WTF :wtf

When did the name of this planet change from Earth to planet USA?

So a seller from a country where it's perfectly legal to sell an oversized toy gun without an orange plug can't sell one on e-bay to a buyer from a country where this also isn't illegal, just because it is illegal in the USA. But the damn thing doesn't even go through the USA or has anything to do with it.

Just because the USA has a problem with this because of their stupid laws allowing real guns and banning toy guns doesn't mean the rest of the world should follow.

Think I'll go buy a nice big Samurai sword on e-bay and cut some peoples heads of. I mean, I can still buy a completely letal weapon on e-bay but I can't buy an oversized toy gun that can't do anything.

Heck, e-bay. I can do this in the USA itself. Plenty of very deadly weapons available which you can buy without any problems.

Effing STUPID.

:tdown

Ebay is USA-centric because it is an American company. It doesn't cater to the rest of the world for international brotherhood (not our style, that's why the world loathes us) but for the extra lining of pockets.

Also, one can't walk around in the street in America with a katana, nor can you even have it in your car unless it is in the box in which you bought it. Yes, this means that you can buy one loose at a flea market and get pulled over on the way home and arrested. Not likely and most Cops know what is going on but it has happened.

The problem with a toy gun is that you can conceal one, and pull it out on someone quickly, make them panic and shoot you. If we weren't all packing this wouldn't be a problem.

This is why I paint real guns neon orange and walk around with them in plain view beofre I start banging.

Good lord....

E-Bay is complying with U.S. toy laws and all of a sudden they are the bad guys? If you ask me they were wrong to not regulate what they had on their site before this.

As for the international issues....if you do not like then do not use e-bay. Go find another service that caters to what you need so you don't have this issue. E-Bay is an American company and can chose to do its business any way it chooses.

eBay is just trying to help everyone understand that tank > gun.

:tflaugh Way to get the conversation off-track Pete. :tflaugh

*On that note. I'm glad we got gun MP Megs, but I also hope that we see tank MP Megs somewhere down the line*

Notice how G1 Megs made every one forget about Master Hoax (tank) Megatron?
