Things we are glad are NOT in the movie

Recommended Posts

Frank Welker

Gun Megatron

Bumblebee as a VW

Prime's mouth shield (so we can see him talk)

Everything from G1

Fanboys that think this is G1 the movie*

*I've been a TF fan since the begining, but come on, nobody complained about Optimus "Primal" in Beast Wars. Or hell, Beast Wars in general.

Nobody complained because...

1) Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal are NOT the same character.

2) Beast Wars was a continuation of original G1 story continuity. The U.S. version that is. The Japanese BWs series was OK but goofy none the less.

Now Beast Machines on the other hand. It's Blote. As well as just about every other TF cartoon since then. RID, Energon, Cybertron etc.

I'm 33...not much I can do about my nostalgia for 80's TF and BW. I'm excited about the movie. I'm excited about SOME of the re-imagined stuff. ONLY thing I really think this movie could do without is Michael Bay. Not because he and the writers changed up the continuity...just cause he can't tell a story. Sure he can make things blow up etc. but I just havn't seen him tell a decent story yet. Just my opinon though.

Totally agree with everything you`ve said the main concern i have always had is although Bay can direct an action scene (assuming it hasnt been done by a differnt action scene director) when it comes to story he ain`t fit to direct traffic.

BUT i really do hope im proved wrong.

I seem to remember a Blot load of people moaning about Beast Wars in general at the time.

Uh yeah.

Whatever Bay does eventually pull out this Summer will still be a hell of a lot more interesting/captivating than the bulk of whatever passed for scripting back in the G1 days.

Also if the script sucks it's not like Bay can be blamed for it. He primarily directs somebody else writes the core story.

FWIW no matter how good/bad the film is I honestly don't see it comparing to the deapth/creativity of BeastWars or Beast Machines. If it's on par with Armada I won't complain.

You can't really compare any movie to a long-running TV show in terms of depth.

Well okay, you can... <_<

I think, though, that a lot of people watching the movie are going to feel like they already know Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Bumblebee, Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet already, so that may help -- at least from a fan perspective.

Spam, thank you.

...

Your eyes hurt truth.

When I watch it there'd better be no fanboys in the cinema. They're the only bad thing I've seen about the movie so far.

:rofl

WinZ.

Ill get the ball rolling;

1) Minicons

2) Cyber keys

3) Action Masters

4) Pretenders

5) Wheelie

6) Exo-suits worn by humans

7) Fembots

8) Time wasting pre set graphical special moves (Im looking at you AEC)

9) Weird Al Yankovic (Sorry Al, but there is a time and a place)

10) Commercial breaks

What's wrong with fembots? :tfmad

Yeah rly. What's wrong with fembots.

As for some of the other stuff people have stated they're glad are not in the movie, I'm so so on these, mostly along the lines of certain subgroups and human looking faces and other stuff.

Things I'm definitely glad are not in the movie:

1. Wheelie

2. Long elongated transformation sequences taking places in alternate dimenstion/sub space pockets (those should remain in the tv shows, and be shown only when a certain TF transformers for the first time in the series (to any of their modes, so when Optimus first transforms from vehicle to robot, that should be the only time we see it, and when he first transforms from robot to vehicle, that should be the only time we see that)).

3. Megazords

Things I'm sorry didn't make it into the movie, but would not ba any happier if it was in the film:

1. Mass-shifting

2. Prime's trailer

Things I hope they put into any of the subsequent sequels:

1. At least one sub-group per side that has a gestalt to it

2. Wheeljack, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker

3. Soundwave, Thundercracker and Skywarp

4. A fembot or two (I'm thinking Elita-1 and Arcee)

Things that I'm glad aren't in the movie.....

1. Gestalts

2. Wheelie

3. Dinobots

4. BLURR (I HATE THAT PowerglideER, I HATE HIM, I HATE HIM, I HATE HIM. GAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!)

5. Vince DiCola's score (Great for a cartoon, not so great for a live action)

6. Mass Shifting

7. Perceptor

8. Triple Changers

9. Generic Transformers that are only there for one or two scenes (Misc. Seekers, Sweeps)

10. Mini-Cons

Things that I wish were in this movie

1. Frank Welker's Iconic voice for Megatron

2. David Kaye as a reasonable replacement for Megatron

3. Megatron as a tank or other artillery based alt mode

4. Ironhide colored Red

5. Ratchet colored White

6. Jazz as a Porsche (Even though he almost looks good as a Solstice)

7. The Ark

8. The Nemesis

9. The Matrix of Leadership

10. Energon (The Cubes, not the characters from that god awful show)

Why are they even in the movie

1. Scorpinok

2. Frenzy

3. Protoforms as a way of travelling

4. Starscream's Monkey Head

5. Vince DiCola's score (Great for a cartoon, not so great for a live action)

Rocky IV disagrees. :tflaugh
