I finally broke down and ordered this set. That's the one with the big Atari, little Autotrooper. They're half price now at BBTS, which was really the main motivating factor, but I always liked the idea of a WST-style Alternator. I hate Atari, though. Did anyone else get this? I know the Kiss player stuff has got a lot of scorn for having the Night Viper tongues and whatnot, but Alts are over... got to do something. This is my first BT/A/Kiss anything, BTW.

yeah I have one. Only thing I hate is the lack of rotating waist and reversible legs. so transformation sequence suffers. the feet cannot face the right direction. unless you pop the feet off and swap them over left to right.

Autotrooper (pronounced "Autrooper" - don't ask me why) is pretty good considering he's a WSTF version of a BT mould (which is quite ambitious). Atari is purely a display statue.

 

The CD is pretty lame. Comes with a radio "drama" play where they talk about KISS Play TFs and would come with the most bizarre story I've ever experienced for Transformers outside of fan fiction. Also, I really can't stand Marissa's voice... she has what sounds to me like a real try hard white-American accent (in terms of how the Japanese stereotypically think white Americans sound like when they speak Japanese as opposed to how they really sound). I always believe that if an actor doesn't know how to speak in a certain accent, then unless you're willing to hire a really good dialogue coach, don't bother trying.

I assume Atari is larger than the average bundled KISS girl, but is Autorooper/looper/trooper the same size as the other WSTF's?

Yeah he is about the right size. a slight bit bigger.

Rodimus is pretty sweet, I'd recommend him.

Thanks for the pic. That helps some, but not a lot since I don't have Grimlock. Still, I'll probably display him with my WST's and Micromasters as long as he's roughly to scale. Atari can go in the box. Also, you can rest assured I have Rodimus on my list. I almost got him once already, but I had to cancel my preorder. I'd like to get the BTA's, too.

I am actually pretty shocked people are out there that really went out of their way to get this set. I have seen the big atari/small autotrooper and the large autotrooper/small atari set. Both of them seem so strange to me, they seem like such sexual toys, you know? I don't know, but the SPAM appeal of these Kiss Players has never really set with me.

 

Does anyone know what the hell these are all about anyway? They have a ton of them at the import store about 10 minutes from my house (including both the sets I mentioned). I've never felt like buying them, but I did almost buy the full-sized Rodimus once.
