Alternators/Binaltech

Recommended Posts

ok boys, here, see what you think of this, http://www.2005boards.com/showthread.php?t=50785 and now shut up, Tankra is evil, we will never see 'Seeker' Seekers and Megs will be a Buick LeSabre and Soundwave will be the Mini-coop, also Ravage will be a Jaguar

See, if they made a Jaguar car, perhaps the old E-type or the current XJS model, both of which look pretty cool, and then called it Ravage, that would be both cool due to the car model and clever due to the whole Jaguar car/cat thing! :tfevil

I like the alt line but they should just stop and make everyting in the MasterPiece or 20th Ann versions of them

It is a comune assumption (yet not official) that The MP/20th Optimus prime is the Optimus of the Binaltech/alternator serie. And he is at the same scale

Yes and No.....for the most part you're right to assume Mp/20th is Part of the BT/Alt line, but he is not in the 1:24 scale....that's a fact. :roll

MP Prime is 1/32 scale.

No, I think the dimensions work out to around 1/28 or 1/29 scale. It's really tough to say since, unlike Alternators, his alt mode is not a scale replica of an actual vehicle. For Alts/BT, it seems like they started with a scale model then worked to make it transform into a figure. For MP Prime, it's more like they started with a figure (an anime accurate Prime) then worked to make it transform into a vehicle. That said, he's still roughly the same scale as the BT/Alts and displays nicely with them.

Reason why I think its around 1/32 scale is a 1/32 scale trailer fits MP prime almost perfectly. Having said that, you are right, alt mode for MP prime was not molded after any particular Semi-truck nor any particular scale. But the closest scale is 1/32 IMO.

Prowl looks a bit unlikely, Apaprently Subaru aren't too willing to license out a police car version................

I also made a Prime trailer out of a 1/32 scale trailer model. It works OK, but it is a tad too small. You notice it most in the width. The wheel placement on the trailer should be in line width-wise with the wheels of the cab, but they are not, they're a bit too narrow.

I put this because I saw what the next Alt/Bl will be and Grimlock should never be asociated with a car. I think it would be better if Hasbro made the original characters look the way they did on the show. I mean Sideswipe shouldn't be a freaking Viper, even though iit is a nice transformer I would prefer a Laborgini

Another why are they using the same mold twice :tfhuh

Dude, as much as I love G1 I have to say it sounds like you're living in the past....I mean what's wrong with the BT/ALts line....nothing. The story that Takara came up with for the BT line fully explains why all the transformers are cars. So really get over it, if you don’t like BT/ALT Grimlock then don’t buy it….it’s really that simple.

Don’t get me wrong I would love to see a MP Grimlock with his Dino mode, but really I love the BT/Alt line and really like what they did with Grim….end of story.

I like that they are taking liberties and making new updated designs. I don't want to see the same figure from 20 years ago with more articulation, I want some new features, new design concepts explored...

Grimlock as an Alt works because they managed to preserve the essence of the character while adding to it
