The mold looks pretty dead on to me.

 

They remolded Blurr and a few other Armada releases to either change or remove the gimmick.

 

To me, an Armada Wheeljack without the chest scar/decal, with an internalized gimmick and with the right paintjob/rubsign would flat out BE Red alert for the Classics line.

 

I know people would prefer new molds but this wouldn't just be a straight repaint. The mold has never been repainted to begin with. And a remold would be worth it to get two more waves out of Classics.

 

I wouldn't even object to Classics being a repaint line if they stuck to repainting fairly clear homages and avoided the weird colors of Universe.

 

Ie. Seaspray and Beachcomber from the Cybertron basics. Dirge, Thrust and Thundercracker. Maybe even Energon Tow-line and Downshift as a twopack of Ironhide and Wheeljack -- with a different color scheme than the club exclusive for Ironhide and a slight redeco for Wheeljack. Or, heck, Energon Downshift would be a better Tracks than Wheeljack with a new head. And Brimstone works fine as Swoop for me, if only to have another Dinobot for Grimlock to be paired with. I wouldn't even object to Rhinox as Slag, Backstop remolded as Snarl if it was one big boxed set of Classics Dinobots.

i read somewhere that if they do decide to continue that they want to try a new sunstreaker, sideswipe and jazz. we might see them after the movie if classics is a success

Classics seems to be more popular than Armada, Energon and Cybertron put together. I think fans are really enjoying a line of Transformers where play value isn't being hampered by some overwhelming gimmick.

 

I'd like to see an original mould for a Classics Sideswipe/Red alert. Armada Wheeljack isn't very well articulated.

well I'm buying a good number of classics figures for Kitbash purposes, so I'm doing my part to make them enough of a success to continue. I'd love to see new molds for Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, and all the Datsun brothers.

Datsun brothers... hehehe... beats calling them the Fairladies I guess. :P

Absolutely not. I love that figure's design, but that mold is way too big and very poorly articulated. I hope to see new molds for Sideswipe, Jazz, the Datsuns, the Vans, and Wheeljack at the very least after the movie.
