Indeed that is poor quality lighting. He was dark brown for his primary color and purple for his secondary color.

yeah, that's why the Energon helicopter guy who stood in for Blast Off was brown.

I'd suggest the chest wing might be more interesting if it were a Minicon jet or something along those lines.

 

Always HATED the fact that some of the parts didn't do anything for the merge teams. Unlike the Micromaster Gestaults which made weird vehicles.

 

It'd make it a bit more detailed, clamp something that fits inside the Energon Star peg hole thing and make it work.

He was actually orange with some brown for half of his limbs (his forearms and lower legs) and his head.

I meant that's why he had brown on him.... but yeah I would have really liked to see purple bits instead of orange on him.

Alright you guys are right that was just a really badly lighted pic. However I think I'll be leaving the black areas on my Blastoff black while painting the light blue parts purple as in the pics I posted earlier. It just makes him look like a stealth fighter. As for the chest plate not doing anything that won't be the case. In their vehicle modes the Combaticons will be using it as a spy drone like the U.S. armies unmaned spy planes. In bot mode Onslaught will be using it as a shield/weapon since I plan on maybe adding some gun barrels to it where they won't get in the way, and of course it'll be Bruticus' chest.

I've got one of these guys on the go myself, although he's been on the back shelf for a while - I'll have to dig 'em out and get back to them.

 

Blast Off was actually a dark olive drab kind of green, not brown - although it is kind of close. Mine's heavily converted from an E-Terradive.

 

Modding Cyb Swindle is definitely not an 'easy option', as has been suggested, since you'd need to completely gut him and retool him to fit the port. My version is being retooled from an E-Bonecrusher, converting Swindle into more of a pickup.

I've been thinking of maybe removing the tank tread panels, and building a pair of 3 wheeled panels to make it like a 6 wheeled all terrain combat vehicle. Danged Christmas packages are still holding up the delivery of my Bruticus chest plate so hopefully it'll arrive in the next couple of days so I can finish Bruticus up now that all 4 of the face plated G1 Combaticons have face plates sculpted on. They still need to painted though so that is why I haven't posted picks of them yet.

I got an email the other day telling me that the guy I bought the chest plate from finally got around to sending it out 10 days after I ordered it. That's why I haven't posted any updates on him. So since he sent it out the 29th it might be here by tuesday or wednesday. Ah well I've been working on my Bludgeon digibash. had to take a pic of the actual Unicron to get an idea of how he was actually going to look. I'll probably post an update on that in the morning when I finish the digibash.
