a few questions about Energon Maximus gestalts

Recommended Posts

Sorry for the rudimentary, passe questions and topic. I was a big fan of G1, but I am out of touch with recent and current toylines.

I'm wondering...

1. Can the Energon Superion Maximus toys still be found in any stores?

2. What was the original selling price of the leader and 4 members?

3. Why do the Bruticus, Constructicon and Superion Maximus teams have two re-colored versions of two other members. That's lame. :tdown

1. No, although there is a Constructicon Maximus repaint giftset coming out sometime for the Classics line. I think that some Family Dollar stores might still be carrying the Universe Energon Superion jet limbs.

2. Leader - $10, other members - $7 (Walmart prices)

3. Because Has/Tak was lame at the time and would not make new molds for the other limbs. Instead they fell back on their good ol' standby strategy: repaint and resell. The fans will buy it.

Hope that clears things up for you :thumb

More answers.

1. Some big lots and dollar stores are caring the Superion limbs under the Universe line still. Think they sell for about 4.99.

2. He's right there, total set usually about 50-60 on Ebay when they were in stores, 80-90 now unfortunately.

3. Money, they got more money out of the molds and saved some cash by making only three molds per set instead of five. The only reason we got five-six molds per set in G1 was because for most of them Takara had already designed and made the molds before Hasbro started the line, and they were much simpler molds as well. The energon guys are at least basics with articulation and not jsut bricks with arms. More molds would have been nice, but I have a feeling that HasTak would have cut quality of the figures if they'd had to spend the money for six more molds.

Just to add. They suck.

Just to add. They suck.

:rofl

They're not that bad. But still not the best. They're fun toys. I'll leave it as that. :tflaugh

they are always fallin apart n crap pure crap

they are always fallin apart n crap pure crap

mine are tied together with a series of clear and un-noticable elastics. its lame that i have to do that, but its not like im going to display them in any other form than the combined one.

and bruticus is pretty solid. best one over all imo.

A buddy of mine in Spain asked me to get the 3 teams for him.

I'm a 'former' G1 fan. I still have a great fondness for that era. Sometimes I'd like to get back into collecting... especially if I felt the kind of magic from the new toys that I felt for G1.

Just to add. They suck.

not if u do this to it :tflaugh
