Hobby Japan MP-5 Megatron Article

Recommended Posts

You guys are crazy. At least he doesn't have Ming the Merciless eyebrows.

That is a definitely plus. It's not that it is bad, it is just that like w/ all things Takara, it could be better.

I actually like this figure a lot more now that I have seen it w/ MP Prime. The really robotic look they have going w/ the spindely legs kinda works for me. Like Pete said once before, it is a good mix of G1 toy and G1 cartoon (although I would rather have 100% G1 cartoon, but that is just me).

I think if they were to have gone for total toon accuracy, it would honestly have been better for them to change the alt mode to a tank or something. There's just not enough mass in a P-38 to translate to this:

If they made him into a tank, then he wouldn't be toon acurate.

I like the head sculpt.

what are you talking about? the face looks fine to me :thumb
I think he's looking great. Every pic I see, he keeps getting better and better. Cant wait.

Two quotes I can wholeheartedly agree with. I'm pre-ordering mine tomorrow since the access to my folks cards are restricted to big purchases and have to be done with them present (sadly, don't have my own credit card).

His face reminds me of the BeastWars G1 Megatron face.

I continue to have loads of interest in this figure. A+

A little, *forgets what BW G1 Megatron's face looked like*

Still in serious doubt. Applaud the fact that we're going to get a MP Megatron, and a lot of this figure looks good. But seeing the comparison with Prime really brings home how this his arms and legs are.

Oh, and the fact that he will be modded/painted by US stores is a big letdown. The thing is way oversized and an expensive toy. What are the chances it will look too much like a real toy?

Looks good now that I have a pic of BW G1 Megs' head.

Either way I just pre-ordered mine tonight from BBTS.

there is NO doubt in my mind that ill be purchasing him.

some of you people expect waaaaay to much.

hmmm those legs still warry me

I'm kind of worried about the legs as well, but I'm glad to see the face and head are closer to the G1 Megs seen in Beast Wars then the actual G1 cartoon version. :thumb
