first pic of MP05 Megatron

Don't forget either that he has collapsible legs. There ain't no room in there.

I seriously can't believe that this is something people are Starscreaming about.

Oh wait, yes I can.

Who's Starscreaming? I still like Megatron, it's just that I can't see why they wouldn't cover the trigger.

But you can just as easily say, "They did, at least, move the trigger down off the crotch to make him more G1 toon accurate.

MP Prime has exposed wheels on his legs. He didn't in the show. That's a precident set by the MP line. When MP debuted, and there was no precident, that would've been a time to complain about non-G1 toon features on legs. But now that it's an established part of this line, and something no one had a problem with before, people are complaining about it. Like they haven't been paying attention or something.

Just seems silly to me.

You are correct. It is silly to complain about something that makes a figure better. :) My whole original point was that it would seem easy to design a way to cover the inner legs there by increasing his G1 bot likeness. Sometimes people just like to complain for the sake of complaining. I feel bad for those people. They just don't "get it" and are usually not very successful in life.

The last part there is just ignorant.

Now if only I actually cared about the G1 Megatron character to enjoy tyhis as much as apparently everyone else.

The design looks alright and the G1 proportions arent half bad but the demand for a g1 accurate plasma canon has made this look laughably bad. For the sake of collectors everywhere I am really hoping for dicast construction. If approached the same as MP3 there is no way Megatron will be able to stand on his own let alone aim that massive plasma canon.

If Hasbro does bring this across the only way I'm even considering this is if it's built as impressively and expensively as MP Prime. No more Gindum models please. :roll

I think its wierd that people are sayin things like, "this is what the masterpiec line is all about", and then saying, excluding MP-03. How many molds does that leave, oh yeah, one.

There aren't enough toys in the MP line to say that it has a particular direction. Hell, the only thing that they have in common is a black box and a $100+ price tag. There, that is their direction.

Welcome to the boards friend. :wave The only ignorant thing here are smart alec newcomers pretending to know what I deem successful living. :tflaugh

In all seriousness, you guys are kidding me, right? We have two previous MP releases to set precedent for what this line is striving for. While two figures does not provide a hell of a lot of precedent, it is apparent that they are striving to give us the most accurate representations of the original G1 characters. For Prime, they did their best to give us a faithful robot mode. For Starscream, an accurate Alt mode was their main objective. It remains to be seen what their main objective is for Megatron. From the size of the scope and the leg designs, I'm theorizing that the accuracy is focused on the alt mode here. *waits for more pics and updates before forming an opinion here*

I'd say its robot mode... its just if they made even more concessions for the robot mode the alt mode would end up looking RM Convoy quality.

The key word in that statement was molds. There are only two molds, everything else is a repaint ala Ultra Magnus or the same old thing with a new accessory ala Convoy with trailer.
