Transformers Live Action Movie Featurette

Recommended Posts

but come on, they showed Venom and Sandman in the Spiderman 3 teaser trailer even if they didn't show clear shots of them. there was enough there to hint at them without given away too much. what Bay is doing is basicly like scientology: "We won't tell you anything unless you give us your money"

Spider-Man is a sequel to a sequel. By now, the public is more than familiar with the film's design asthetic. There's less to hide.

And, again, dude, the movie's NINE MONTHS AWAY. By the time anyone actually buys a ticket to this thing, the toy shelves are going to be full of movie robot examples. No one that doesn't want to will have to go into this movie blind.

Lack of info now =/= scientologistic* marketing.

but Bay has gone on record as stating that he wants to keep the movie designs secret until after opening weekend.

That's no different from the original Alien and Predator movies.

Yeah, seriously -- what's wrong with that?

just out of curiousity? How many movies have you produced, directed, or did marketting for in order to have such insight into what they should or should not do?

BWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Man that was cool, set me to :drool

Yeah, seriously -- what's wrong with that?

because people are expecting to see giant robots. if there's no giant robots in the trailers, they'll probably think "Meh, this movie is going to be nothing but a bunch of humans and minor glimpses of the tf's. It's not worth my time"

As a reiteration of what other people have said, the movie is called "Transformers." A natural moviegoer barely even thinks about this movie right now. They won't remember until they see another trailer for this movie.

Plus, like others have said, they know the movie is about Transformers. Just like people know that the movie Alien was about Aliens, and Predator is a movie about whatever the hell the Predator was.

Don't worry - Transfans like us are thinking too much into this marketing thing especially when it's still November and the movie is out in July of next year. About three months or so before the movie comes out, there will be a HUGE push for this summer blockbuster. You can count on it.

I am still not seeing this Scorponok scene. Is it the part with the VTOLs?
