G1 jetfire alternatives? (valks?)

Recommended Posts

Me again :)

I like Jetfire - but I dont want a yellowed one and can't justify the money for a mint one...

What alternatives do I have?

I've checked the bay for valks and its just left me confused! - many dont mention scales and some are hard to tell if they change...

Basically i'd like a jetfire style one with the armour and about the same scale.

I'm not bothered about the colours or head sculpt really

(and it will be taken out of any box its in!)

Ta

i'd wait for the classics one... it should take care of all your jetfire/skyfire needs.

Ah but the mold will not be anything like it... :(

Personnally the classics line does not float my boat!

The Bandai version of the toy is the same mold that Jetfire used (or really vice versa). I've liked the toynami Robotech Masterpiece version of these valkyries/veritechs. They are more posable than the Bandai version, transform the same, although have more plastic and are slimmer. They are nonetheless about the same height as the Bandai version. I used to have a Yamato version, but found that the transformation was kind of bleh.....it incorporated taking off the legs and then sticking them back on again. They were also smaller.

Good luck.

1/48 with fast packs will float your boat. BEWARE - read how to correctly tf these beauties (BP-08 - part number). The 1/60th look good too but I'm really liking the 1/48th.

try this you might find something you like. bbts has some macross stuff too.

I have a 1:55 VF-1S Super Valkyrie that I'll be repainting. The VF-1S is the Valk. with the same head as Jetfire. And being a super valk, he came with the armor and fast packs so I didn't have to buy them separately. A tiny bit of paint removal, a few paint apps, and the reprolabels should make for a pretty good G1 Jetfire.

The original was a 1:55 scale Valk, if I remember correctly.

I picked up an extra that I'm thinking of selling, let me know if you want it and we can work something out.

I just got rid of a Bandai reissus of the VF-1S with the armor on ebay. Didn't know it would go for $100 bucks. :tflaugh
