why was my thread merged while this one remains seperate? i swear, the mods hate me just like everybody hates me.

well the pic they use is a custom as shown here

as for them changing the toy... no i dont like the idea sure it might help with the importing but i dont like the idea of some one else messing around with my toys befor i get ahold of it even if its to make it legal

Well, thanks for informing me where the pic came from.

Now, onto the main topic, the capping.

I'm not happy about it either, but I'd rather have it than no Megatron at all.

I don't know what the laws are on toy guns in the UK where you are Blitz, but the ones here suck ballz. Fortunately I don't buy any toy guns with two exceptions. Classics Megatron and the upcoming MP-05 Megatron. If they make a Classics Shockwave, I'll buy that too. And if I can get ahold of Original Megatron and Shockwave, them too, but that'd be it, unless they come up with new figures that transform into guns, or have gun-ish modes worked into them though the mode is not "official" (some people just bent the legs into a handle position on E. Shockblast to turn him into a gun).

That's shit. I don't have a problem with them adding a removable cap, but they don't have any business making permanent modifications to the figure, least of all painting it. I'll wait for another toy store to do this right.

Yeah, why don't we throw stones at the people who are trying to help us out? :roll

well in the good ol'uk guns arnt legal and all toy guns have to have the oringe cap pritty much like the US unless the toy looks realy sci-fi like the PR stuff

and id much rather not have megatron then having one thats been molested and is no longer mint

Ooh. Can I throw the first one....please. Pretty please.

Seriously. I don't think BBTS is going to be the only store that gets import TFs that does this. They might be the one of the few though that won't charge us extra for the modifications while other stores might.

Besides, glue is able to be undone with a decent solvent applied correctly. Also nothing is permanent, with the exception of death and taxes.

:note these boots are made for walking :note

That's funny. I just watch Dukes new movie this weekend.

a good idea might be to just have it packed in bot mode and have it sent as a collectors item rather then a toy/ replica gun (and IMO thats the truth) that way customs should not have a problem with it. now if you start waving it round it the street in gun mode that just makes you retarded and since 99% and perfectly capable of removing a cap or using paint i dont see how adding one would do the collector any favors

but yes it is good thier trying

I don't consider making irreversible changes a big help, but that's just me. There's no reason they couldn't do the same thing in a way that would be easily reversible. If it's glued on, it may be removable with some effort, though one would inevitably run the risk of damaging their new $100+ toy. If it's painted it can always be repainted, but there will always be a noticeable difference, no matter how good a kitbasher you may be.

Removable caps DO exist. I see no reason not to use them.

but yes it is good thier trying

Well, it's the thought that counts.
