Long stacks for Hasbro "Masterpiece" Prime

Recommended Posts

I got my long stacks from A3U as well. I figured I go ahead and pick some up while pre-ordering MP03 back in May. The instructions were easy to follow, installation was a sinch, and I had 2 little stacks I could test alcohol on to see if removing the battle damage on Prime's grill abs would take off the chrome.

Plus Spencer's a great guy to deal with. Good stuff all around. Prime looked like ass standing next to Magnus until I upgraded his stacks.

soooooo.... did the alcohol work? I've been dying to take it off prime lately...

You'll be pleased to know that Prime's chrome paint is completely impervious to 70% rubbing alcohol. I applied it liberally to my short stack and rubbed it hard for several minutes and it didn't leave the slightest mark.

I never got around to actually using it to remove the battle damage. I'm about to do that right now and then I'll post a pic.

Umm, however...

You should know that it's not just that one spot. The entire grille is covered in a light coat of the battle damage paint so you're going to be doing a lot more rubbing than you thought. and even with q-tips, a toothpick, and your fingernails... it's going to be very difficult to get it out of the corners.

But the end result still looks good and pretty clean. I say go for it. Lazy now, pic later =P

mmkay, pics.

Here's how it looks up close and personal.

Under normal light:

and with the flash. It really shows what I wasn't able to get with q-tips. Maybe I should go back and try a toothbrush?

Not bad. It looks like the process scratches the chrome up a little bit, but I bet you can't see it much inder normal lighting.

Thanks for posting it!

I think the scratches are a result of the cheap plastic q0tip knockoffs... I pulled most of the batting off to try to get into the crevices. But you can't see them at all under normal lighting, even from only inches away in the sunlight. All in all this is a major improvement.

Hey guys, thanks for all the compliments on the stacks. I guess I will attempt to answer a few of the questions here if you don't mind.

Shipping on just stacks is $3. You can get them off eBay or from our site. If you order from the site it will charge you $8.99 for shipping. That is our flat rate shipping to the US but if you use a CC it will only charge the $3 and if you use Payapal, the difference will be refunded before they are sent out. Of course if you order them with multiple items, you will just be charged the $8.99 for the shipping.

All stacks, both the 20th Prime ones and G1 Chrome ones come with detailed instructions to show the process of changing them. Personally I have done many of them in the store as people would bring them in to have it done rather than trying it themselves but it is a very easy process for both the 20th Prime and the G1 figures.

Shipping takes about a week or so unless it is this month. We just moved the store and the whole place has been in chaos for about two weeks. We are getting caught up with any orders ( I think I have 6 envelopes with stacks in them here ) and should be up to date by this weekend.

The metal stacks look very good and I wish I bought pair of them myself when there were around. They are a little different than the Takara ones but I would have loved to have a comparison shot of his and mine together.

The stacks do work on the new 20th DVD Prime as well as the older one. Course with the change in colour for the new one, I thought the chrome would look a little out of place. NOPE! They look great on the figure even with the new colour scheme. I am most happy with them on my new figure and now the old 20th Prime will be up for sale.

Again, thanks for all the compliments. I had these done for the fans because I was so dissapinted in the shorter stacks. I think they give Prime the look he deserves.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me at any time. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Spencer.

g1 stacks hmmm,

comparatively are harder than anni

I have a pair from Ages three and up, I highly recommend them. They are primo in every way, and they look better than my factory MP-02 ones (they look like the finish was thin or rubbed off). The Ages three and up stacks are the exact dimensions of the MP-01 stacks, however they made the mounting hole slighly tighter which makes a perfect fit. You might have to shave the inside of the mounting hole slightly to make them move freely.

Also I have 2 pair of Kenscollection stacks. A word of warning on the KensCollection ones. First, they are actually smaller than the MP-01/AU3 stacks. Second, they are not molded straight, both pairs are bent. I was able to bend them straighter, but they are molded that way. The finish and metal/weight are awesome, but the shape is very off compared to the MP-01/AU3 stacks.

Oh, and I don't mind the battle damage, would rather have that than a crap silver gun. Plus there's always MP-04.

I've done this- easy as falling off a log.

Also, I found the large classic Big Pink Eraser from the days of yore is adequate to remove the burn mark battle damage if you wish to do that.
