JUST QUOTED 8/24/06 by Robert Orci on the movie website

It's funny how all of a sudden, everyone is a movie expert.

thats just how i took it. it's pretty easy to miss take people on a board due to the whole lack of everything but words part of the internet. and it's obvious that i didn't expect this in anyway, even after i saw the other bots, this completly came out of left field.

Wow. I never thought to think that these images we've seen were not finished products and that we'd be getting these characters that look like video games on the big screen without any detailing. :roll :roll :roll

To borrow from another forum I go to: We landed on the moon.

Ouch. :eek

Reguarding the designs. All I can see added is colours/textures. Aside from final polish every design look to be pure awsomeness IMO. :thumb

I say leave them be.

:rofl

Glad you find it funny. At the particular forum I got that from it's sort of their "welcome to last week" response in terms of news. :tflaugh

But truer words have never been spoken, right?

*will preface this by saying that most likely nothing will change*

Okay, just follow me for a second...but WHAT IF what we've seen was from the very early stages of the character designs? Or even scrapped concepts?

It's a stretch, but I mean, do we REALLY know ANYTHING? This is the INTERNET after all....

I think they put far too much stock into their "special fx" especially as the "detail" on the eyes and so on will be largely lost on anyone but serious nerds who study frame by frame due to the inevitable 'dark and brooding' atmosphere what will be abound when the decepticons are on screen.

Well, the Transformers won't look so glossy/shiny on the big screen like they do in these images we've seen.

well whatever they do, at least I can say I'm one of the many happy with the 'changes'. yes, as much as the Naysayers will want to think otherwise, there are more people glad to just have a Transformers Live Action film no matter what they look like.

its been said since the Rogers' cut of the script "This isn't G1" and the same thing could be said about all the series we've soaked in since then. Beast Wars wasn't G1 (sure its in the timeline) but we still loved it. Armada wasn't G1, it sucked, but we still bought into it. Energon. Cybertron.. Alternators... Infiltration-Escalation-STORMBRINGER, NOT G1, but 'new'

I like what I'm seeing in these designs, They're new, they're 'real' and they're not just Toys. Damn I said it in the 'Leaked Megs' thread but damn I'll say it again. Looking at that face and IF Welker does get the voice, I can see him saying "DECEPTICONS! ATTACK!!!" A face like that and a look like that, nobody wants to F*** with that!! Anybody can make a live action model of a toy. It'll be the most boring movie ever, but seeing what we have is more than we were told we'd get before January. We've been spoiled by nay sayers who want to spread dislike and hate and by the fans who want to show off what they've found. Yet, in the long run how many of those

"well they're not gonna see one red cent of my money for a ticket?!!" bottom feeders are going to go, pay the evening ticket fee, buy popcorn and a soda that costs more than their ticket, and see the film..?

We've seen enough backlash from the producers already about what we've seen and what they say and what they see us say that eventually something bad is going to happen. I know its a far shot from happening, but what if all the scuttlebutt leads to a cancelation of the film? I know Hasbro's banking on this from a financial standpoint (I'm a stockholder, I read the report last quarter), and they couldn't go with it, but what happens when the producers do things out of spite rather than in some form of honor for the fans?

Cancellation? I'd have no problem with that. As others who keep telling us to not be concerned about the robot designs have said, "It's just a movie."
