Robots in Disguise

RiD worked well b/c it was campy and fun and was just an enjoyable kiddie cartoon (plus going back to real vehicles for the first time in a decade kinda helped too).

RID was my first TF disappointment when it came to a TF show. I was spoiled since I had already seen all the episodes when they aired as Car Robots. I surely didn't like the calling out of attacks, but I understand why it was done. Of course, that didn't stop me from watching it any chance I got.

Jetix huh, Toon Disney (where I can watch Jetix) has not ever shown RID, but I think I have seen screenshots to show it was. Too bad they don't show it on there anymore.

Jetix is owned by Fox Kids (i believe)

All the Fox Kids stuff was purchased by Disney when Saban went under. So Jetix is a Disney brand, but they never bother to show RID in the states that I know of.

Amazon UK has the entire RID box set for sale and rent, I've seen a few, very poor quality, episodes and it wasn't bad. Silly and camp, yes, I agree there, but it did have an appeal to it. And come on, an Autobot in love with red sports cars? Very different. Once I've got a new DVD player and signed back on with the Amazon DVD rental plan, I'll rent that box set or buy it. Wouldn't mind boxsets of Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Armada, Energon and Cybertron being released in this country.

-More box sets please!

I found Beast Wars Season 2 Volume 1 on DVD second hand once. Never saw a complete season boxset though. Although the entire series was released on VHS back in the day.

yeah i'm still awaiting the beart wars boxsets...

its the only the series i dont yet own...

R.I.D. has its charm. It does not take itself seriously and I like that.

Plus Koji is the only human (in the Japanese shows) that is not overused. :tftongue

And he doesn't whine all episode long.

RID was simply wonderful for me, I think it really had a basic Transformer adventure. Sometimes saving the universe is too over used, and we forget how fun simple little shows like this is.
