Jetfire is an awesome, awesome toy.

But a sucky, sucky character.

see, i begin to read and think: "Hey! he's a guy who has a complete seeker, tough to come by, right on!" but now i see you mean jetfire and i think "dude, lol...killer snag, you loose a mask toy, you gain a legend!" One of the first big buys I ever made for my fledgling TF collection was a G1 haul that included a lot of boxed stuff, main one being good ol' Jetfire.

Like others have said, he was a macross/robotech toy... a series way ahead of it's time in toy quality, he's almost a masterpiece TF imo. Just an amazing toy. Keep enjoying him!

:tfsad I used to have him as a kid. Alas, no more.

I have all six of them, what does that get me? I also have G2 starscream.

Why is Jetfire being singled out for "not fitting in?"

If Jetfire "belongs" in Robotech/Macross, then the Deluxe Autobots "belong" in Dorvack, the Deluxe Insecticons "belong" in Beet Gadol, Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, the Autobot cars and 1st Year Decepticon Sky-Raiders all "belong" in Diaclone and the Autobot mini-cars, Decepticon cassettes, Megatron and Soundwave all "belong" in Microman!! Why just pick on poor Jetfire?! Sheesh!

Wreck and Rule?!http://www.garada.net/modules/PNphpBB2/rangosv2/053.jpg OH NOES! It's Roadbuster from another cartoon!

Megatron, Soundwave and Bumblebee all originally came from this franchise http://www.animenfo.com/image/anime_2260.jpg

"Chisana kyoujin! MI-CU-RO-MAN!"

Somehow the term 'Sky-raider' creeps me out.

Because he's the topic of discussion. I love Jetfire so much I have 2 of him. One with the Macross symbol on the wing. That one doesn't belong. That and the odd obsession to look for Rick Hunter everytime I see Jetfire displayed in jet mode.

After messing around with the Yamatto 1/48 scale figures, I will never say Jetfire is a good toy again and there is NO WAY it can possibly stand up to the new Mascross stuff that is available now. When you can make a toy that looks great in vehicle mode and yet be so posable in Robot mode, Jetfire is a sad case indeed.

Jetfire was a good toy for its time but compared to todays standards in toys, it is not all that great. There are many toy lines out there with transforming robots, Transformers is just a small part of the universe.

I have seen a repaint of one of the Macross ones into Jetfire. Now THAT was impressive. If I had the nerve to take $300 worth of toy under the nozel of a can of paint, that is what I would do.

The toys that were all pulled together under the TF name are very apparent when you look at them. You can lump a lot of the designs together. The Deluxe Autobots and Insecticons all look very simillar. Of course all the cars are alike and all the decpticons are very alike as well. Jetfire does tend to stand out from the others, as does Omega and Shockwave. Could be because those are all one shots.
