can't be done. i tried it. his head only has one visible screw which i unscrewed. doing so doesn't acomplish anything. that head does NOT come apart....

In fact, it does.

(Notice the parts lying behind the screwdriver. :P)

Just be careful in prying the helmet halves apart, lest ye scratch the plastic.

The mask takes a bit of pressure to slip down off his chin (thanks to the design of the hinge).

And when putting it back together, the indent on the button's post goes AROUND the lever on the mask hinge! (and the spring goes in the hole on the button post)

:D

Why, God, Wwwwwhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy??????? (*on knees with head in hands*)

Thanx DLP! Sorry mr sooty

AUGH! HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!?!?!? does it involve more than one screw or what? please explain!!

There is only one screw. The head splits into front and back halves.

I used a small flat-head screwdriver. Stick it between the back of the helmet and one of the "ears" (I started with his left "ear") and gently pry that side of the head back (there's a semi-circle opening the driver will catch in). Just pry each side a little until the back of the head pops out.

Be VERY careful, as you can scratch the plastic!

The back of the head will be seperate. It has a raised line on either side that fits into a groove at the bottom of the ear-plate. You'll have your "make Prime talk!" button loose as well. It has an "L" shaped post with a hole in the end. Look closely at the front half of the head: see the little spring and the post sticking up next to it? The indentation in the button's post goes AROUND that. The spring fits into the hole. Make a note of both.

now, you can push the mask down to see Prime's nose and mouth. With a little pressure, you can push the mask all the way past his chin. Look at where the hinge-bar in back rests BEFORE you do that. See how it sits on top of a little ledge?

To put it back, rest the hinge-bar on its little ledge, then carefully--but forcefully--push the mask back up over his chin.

Now reverse the rest of the steps. Put the button in place first, then put the back of the head over it (you can use the little screwdriver to help line button up with the hole in the back of the head as you work the two halves back together). Make SURE you have the button's "L" post situated AROUND the hinge-post, NOT pressing against it: ====

And the spring inside the hole in the end of the button post.

You'll have to work a bit to get the back of the head wedged back inbetween the ear plates.

Test to make sure the button still presses and makes the mask move. If not, check to make sure you've got the hinge-bar and button together right.

When that's working, put the screw back in, press the ears together against the head, and everything should be cool.

DISCLAIMER: If you break it, it is in NO way my fault that you attempted it. :D

was that an MP Convoy or a 20th prime you dismantled there?

Just think of all the other Transformers that wear that type of mask.

Yeah, you should see what's under Soundwave's mask. It's a huge goofy grin on a really sweet looking face.

MP Convoy.

Now I'm thinking about buying a 20AOP and swapping their heads. :D

Oh, and now that I've shown that I'm more man than the rest of you... *grin*

...somebody do the same with their 20AOP and show us if it's the same, or if they modified the mold.

k, I took my 20th prime down and popped the head off. I didn't even have to dismantle it to see the "teeth". I dunno how I missed them before. I guess partly because I didn't remove the head from the body previously.

I wish I did, but I currently don't have a working digital camera... besides, it looks just the same as the photos above.
