Alternators not Dead Yet - New Wal*Mart Listings!

That being said - i am amazed at how well Rico and Rolly are actually selling around here. Alts are flying off the shelves in Los Angeles.

That is probably because they really aren't as bad as people are making them out to be.

i refuse to believe that Alts are not dead until we get confrimation of Alt-Rumble.

Its not about me saying they are bad - its about having lived through the Shelfwarming plauge that was the subaru and swindle for the last year.

Argh. To my understanding both Ricco and Rollbar both had real difficulty fitting back together in alt mold. If they're anything like my Sunstreaker I'm staying very far away from both. Tnteresting IMO how earlier waves were reported KO quality but later waves have no problems by the sounds of it. Either  Q/C must've stepped up a notch before shipping more or it's the luck of the buyer.

Hope the latter is true because I am really looking forward to Mirage and Camshaft.

Oh, yeah as for Beast Wars characters as alts. Sure why not, I would much rather have a car named Cheetor opposed to a car named Seaspray. Personally I don't care weather the alt is either a G1 homage or a self contained character. If it's well executed and looks good in both modes I have no problem buying it.

Now waits for the rest of the Dinobots as either high preformance muscle cars or SUVs. :thumb

I knew the Alt line wasn't dead. It seems to be a trend that we declare the alt line dead the closer we get to the end of the year. I'm going to wait to see pictures before I pass any judgement on these characters. The Jag Ravage thing is weird, and Hasbro did mention that they wanted to put Beast Wars homages into either the Alts or the next toyline so they are possibilities.

that would seriously make me cry

They may also have gotten some new or adjusted tooling.

Could be... all I know is my expensive die-cast BT alert is about a hundred times crappier than my cheap plastic Alt Ricochet.  The only thing wrong with my Rollbar is the lazy-ass paintjob.

My Rico is about on par with the rest of my WRX's... about the same as Streak, slightly more finicky than Smokes, and better than alert.  I've never found the Subaru mold to be very good at aligning in alt mode.

*waits for an Alt Waverunner named Seaspray* :tflaugh

No problems with my Rollbar whatsoever. He seems to be the hardest to find around here (Memphis, TN), whereas Uncle Rico can still be found. Skids and Tracks are warming shelves, but thats prolly since Wallycron ordered like 400 cases of each, but just maybe 5-10 of R.B. and U.R.....

Their just killing time (aka toy filler) before all the good Car models are used for the movie line, for which I believe will branch FROM Alts.

If u r right, and I have no prob with this, I just hope the movie line toys are 1/24 scale also.

I hate massive size differences in toys, wich is why my collection is limited to Alts right now.

I agree 100% plow. Much as I liked some of the energon and cybertron toys, how bad does it suck to have a jeep or communications truck smaller than a sportscar, or a gigantic ass motorcycle that dwarfs a jet?  Thats why I ve pretty much sold everything off but my alts, as well as E-arcee and C-lugnutz since theyre both more or less to scale...

It's always bothered me a bit too (since it's been that way since 1984), but I think 1:24 scale is a bit much to ask if you're talking about characters that transform into tanks and jets.

Well with tanks, jets, etc its ok if theyre not exactly to scale, just so long as theyre noticeably bigger than the cars. Like deluxe for the cars, mega (or whatever the $19.99 price point is called) for the jets would work.

The only ones I want are the Caddi and maybe the Mustang.
