If you've gotten Energon Optimus Prime....

Recommended Posts

Faceplate here... Glad I waited, as the mouth kinda freaks me out.

Aside from that, I really like E. Prime. He feels solid, looks good, has decent articulation, and combines with upcoming figures. Even though I like Armada Jet Prime's aesthetic a bit better E. Prime is definately a better TOY. I actually play with him occasionaly while Jet/Overload/Prime just stands there looking cool.

I got both. I got the "mouth" version a while back and just recently found the new one.

The fact that he has a mouth doesnt bother me so much as that it looks like a cheap knock-off version of Optimus' head. If they wanted a mouthed version, they shoulda just done it with no face plate at all, not cut a hole in the one he had leaving part of his face nekkid and sticking out.

I couldn't agree more. I picked up the faceplate Prime. I don't mind a mouth, but to cut a hole in the middle of the obvious intended faceplate is just lazy design work. I would've been fine with a mouth, but not a mouth in a faceplate.

You guys know how to tell which version it is w/o opening it up don't you? The faceplate ones will have some numbers stamped or intended into the bottom of the box. The mouth one doesn't have the numbers. Its hard to see but you can feel it for sure if you run your fingers across.

not all the ones with plates have the numbers. You can just check in the parking lot by sliding the box out and flipping the head up.

i got the Faceplate... and i am happy with the mofo!

:pfx

that would have been a better idea. if they could think of a way to make a retactable mouthplate it would be even better. :thumb

by the way the one i currently have is the mouthimus version. :tdown i've finally seen some of the numbered boxes with the plate but i haven't had the money to get one.

i'm thinking e-optimus will be the same as armada, easy to find at a huge discount come clearance time! megs on the other hand will become a collectors classic i'm sure.

I have the superlink version, better color and face plate yaaahhhh

I got mouthy Prime - I figure I'll get the faceplate version when the inevitable recolor comes out.

BTW - for those looking for the new faceplate version, the fastest way to tell if it's got it or not is to look at the arms behind the cab - the old version had them (properly) angling down into the back end of the cab where the trailer attaches. The newer versions have the arms straight out back of the cab; no angled arms.
