Could you live without TF's and a TF fix?

Recommended Posts

I dont collect at all, rather pick up certain ones i feel that i wont put away after a week. A good collector keeps them prefect, a fan like me would have 70% of their collection saved from childhood and have considerable wear on them. But to live without TF's, hell i'd just go back to my Star Wars collection.

Wow, good question.

1993-1996

The G2 years was when my Transfandom dipped to its all-time low.

That's funny. If I kept anything, it'd be my G2 stuff.

Well I stopped collecting TF's in the mid 90s, my abusive ex got me back into them, part of her attempt to stop me from knowing what she was really up to with her father and how selfish she is.

Tony.

O_O

I'd drop it all on it's face if I decided to. Material posessions, although I have many and have/ had more hobbies than most care to chime in on, I would dump it all and start a new life doing something else.

I'm all over the map with hobbies, but I must admit that a large part of my childhood and what I loved as a kid from the age of 3 was molded from the Transformers toy and cartoon series. I started speaking at a very young age and had a vocabulary of over 150 words when I was 14 months old. I freaked out when I saw the first Transformers commercial for Optimus Prime.

But to answer the question, yes, I could live without it all.

Hobbies I've had and still currently do when I have the time -

-Model Cars

-Model Rockets

-RC Cars

-RC Airplanes

-H/O Trains

-Cars (all shapes, sizes, ages and speeds. I have and can do anything to a car, humanly possible.)

-Sheet metal fabrication

-Boats (I've restored Chris Craft wooden boats from the 30's-'60's)

-Skateboards (everything from riding street, vert, manufacturing, collecting and everything involving skateboards)

-Independent film production, Animation production (cell and puppetry)

-BMX Bikes

-NES

-Turbo GrafX16

-Music (playing the drums, guitar, bass, trombone, keys, going to shows, tech set up, playing shows, collecting music, punk rock, hip hop, old country, death metal, new wave, industrial, Wesley Willis...whatever)

-Artwork (collecting it, drawing, painting, airbrushing, sculpting, toy manufacturing/ altering/ kitbashing, sand casting....)

-Alcohol... Somalia (the specialization of fine wines), beers of all kinds... I'm a true enthusiest. Not to be mistaken with an alcoholic.  :tflaugh

-Culinary Arts (my brother is actually working as a sushi chef for a guy who trained under Morimoto - the Iron Chef champion) He landed that job on accident more or less.  :tflaugh Still works as the head cook at the oldest bar in Denver, though. That's where he met this guy.  :tflaugh

-Jewelry (metal polishing, stone cutting...)

I've got tons of useful and useless information!!  :tftongue

I seriously could live without material posessions though, and be perfectly happy with some good friends, new or old.  :thumb

I could.  I could also live without pizza, or the love of a woman. (why did i mention pizza first?  Well... it was here first :P)

But why?  I mean, living without TFs would mean no toys, no comics, no watching the shows, no stopping at TFans, etc...  what would that all prove?  the $$ stuff is obvious, but...

I work in a business where if I want to make some more money bad enough, I just go make it.  So selling off all my stuff would be a financial band-aid at best, and thus not worth it.

on the other hand, i gave up cable tv (and thus, tv in the process, because i can't be arsed to put up some rabbit ears), and I don't miss it all that much at all.  In fact, I'm kinda worried when my gf moves in that she'll want some sort of tv to watch, and i'll be hooked again (the reason i gave it up - it was taking up WAY too much of my time)

But B.O.T.: Yes, I could.  But it wouldn't prove anything..

I've been having to make due without em for awhile now. Honestly, since the main lines haven't done much to interest me, I've mostly been working on finishing up the 10th Anni Beast Wars which is affordable for the most part.. and also Alternators.. but even those aren't looking so good as of late.

I think I'm ending towards the end times as far as my TF collection goes. We'll have to see how awesome (or lack there of) the Neo g1 classics line is going to be like.

I lived without them for about 2-3 years.  It was only a coincidence that I met my future wife at that time.  I just simply forgot.  Car Robots had ended, and there was no interest of me getting RiD since I had (and still have) most of the figures).  Then I forgot.  Hah.  When I came back, I found that I missed out on a lot of stuff.

Right now my collecting is between casual and dedicated.  I do it when I have time.  And now, I have more time than what I did in the past.

No, I cant.

Now that I've seen MP03-Starscream, I doubt it!
